All the questions are NO except for question 3( is ALWAYS YES) otherwise your check will be delayed. This is for both weeks. It’s very important to always look for work because EDD will need to know the job, company etc.
It's completely overwhelmed. Scamming is going on in some locations. It's a shame.
almost all EDD question are designed for the filer to guess thus the filer answers incorrect and it allows EDD to delay paying out your claim even this lady knows that by addressing that the first question will automatically disqualify most people -- yet they have not fixed that yet

@Vodo LeLe - sorry to tell you this but we're still in the midst of the 1st wave of Covid-19. The 2nd wave is due to hit in the fall-winter 2020. That's when Covid19 will bring his pal, THE SEASONAL FLU, to come to visit us and kill many of us!

I couldn't do this online because EDD is asking a concrete date when you started to work and when you had quit the work and for what reason you quit.
So there's no option to let EDD know that I'm still working on one job but lost the other job.

What about someone who was misclassified by their employer, filed before pandemic? And I assume my application confused EDD since I filled out the app exactly how an employee would (not an independent contractor the way my employer intentionally illegally classified me.) I imagine they are confused not only on whether I was an employee or not, but also, after looking at my social security, I found out that there is no record of me working for this employer! This employer has screwed me over in more ways than one and is also a slumlord who makes the tenants that live on his properties suffer. He is breaking so many laws and because EDD has still not gotten back to me to investigate the application I sent in a year ago now, he continues to get away with all that he continues to do. Ruining peoples lives and fraud on the IRS. I have wrote many letters to different government agencies including EDD and still, nothing has changed. Does this employer run the government? lol I don't understand.
if you are unavailable to work for one week, and one week only, does that mean you dont qualify for benefits for all the other weeks you were able to work and actively searching for work?

Answering the CA EDD certification is a no brainer. It’s easy number 3 is yes and the rest are no.

I filed in early May but my hours were reduced, I still haven't heard anything back from EDD and have not been able to get through on the phone. I'm down to $29.00 in my savings...should I try to file again?

Just trying to get through all the PASSWORDS! I can never get it right! Even if I have the correct password the program says it is wrong and I can not continue. Are they doing this to discourage a person to file for edd?

I applied on July 7th 2020 it's about to be 4 weeks on august 4th. I havent received anything. My brother also applied for it way before me and hasn't received anything. I tried calling the numbers on the paper I was given at the unemployment office and nobody is answering. They said keep trying, but the machines say it's too busy we cant help goodbye. I'm getting frustrated please show us a way to speak to a representative I dont need to speak to a machine I need actual help in figuring out why we havent received anything is it even being looked at. And might i inform you that i did my application online.
Miguel Campos Have you gone on,Inez to log into your account. After you log in, click manage or register. If you are approved, you will be asked to certify. If not, it will ask you for your customer ID #. In that case you will have to call EDD for your customer ID.

Will I lose my unemployment after receiving an unsecured EIDL loan from SBA?
Logically LOAN is not an income, which means I do not show it to EDD during the certification. Am I correct? Please reassure me. LA, Califonia.

My sister and I filed our claim a little later after we were both laid off due to COVID which was around March and we filled around May. I was looking at her claim and she was being paid for March, April and May and I was only paid starting from May. Do any of you guys know why?
Val R. When did you put your last day work? Did you enter May. If so, call EDD and tell them you enter the wrong information for your last day worked.

I do my recertification ONLINE but there is no question asking "are you avaible to work?" I only see were u too sick or injured to work?" ...my certification has been pending since the beginning if june :( ... no childcare or schools to help babysit my kids so I can go work and make money :(
It should be the third question; ALWAYS answer the questions as if you're ready & able to work, and are actively looking for work. Also, they don't care whether or not you have childcare, you must still be "available" to work...
@@xamyx2205 Like i mentioned before on the UI ONLINE certification there is no question asking "are you available for work?" Only "were you too sick or injured to work?" Then it proceeds to "was there any other reason you could not accept work? allowing you to choose from a drop down menu that includes "NO CHILDCARE" which on the PUA qualifications, it states that a parent with children whos school shutdown ( childcare) due to COVID is eligible.

Question 1 no, 2 no 3 yes 4 no 5 no and no for the rest except for check box to have federal tax taken out.... pretty simple

Sometimes it’s just late you’ll get it eventually. My first one was 3 weeks behind and then 2-3 days later I got my 2nd one.

@@krazyepic323mc - Same with me! I received a letter stating that I was eligible for the PEUC program after I had exhausted my UI late last year. My first certification was for the last two weeks of July and my 2 certifications say PENDING FOR THE WEEK ENDING... How much longer do I have to wait?
@@UtsukushiTamashi - when you say "3 weeks behind" does that mean it took 6 weeks total because it normally takes 3 weeks to receive your payment after you apply?

why are you encouraging people to lie on their forms to get benifits?
I applied and it says im eligible thru mail. I even got a customer acc number. When i try to certify my account it says my account doesn’t exist or my social security #!! is anybody having the same problem? Then to top it off nobody answers the phones!

It didn't apply to me, so I checked no. I should not have checked anything. It won't let me uncheck the bubble

I just certified three days ago did the $300 get cut off in California Because I did not receive it
The extra $300 started the week beginning July 26th through August 29th. If you did not certify for any of those weeks then you will not receive the $300. If you have certified for any of those weeks and have not received the extra $300 you need to contact EDD and let them know. They are trying to get a 6th week approved but the last I checked there was no word about it. If you already have an online account with EDD there is a section that allows you to contact them. Some of the categories will only give you explanations while other categories will allow you to ask a question. It's anybody's guess how long it will take for them to get back to you. Don't get frustrated and give up as that $300 figure could turn into more than that if and when Congress ever agrees on a new stimulus package.

To anyone who’s family wife or kids have gotten covid, don’t hesitate to file a claim, I didn’t expect to be off a month, but no paycheck for a month hurt, I used my emergency funds and I honestly don’t know if the state will cover from the time my family was exposed til I return back to work. Do not be hesitant and think it’ll be over in a week or two because it probably won’t, I hope everyone who reads this is safe and I hope you all are well!
I blame Inexperience Govern newsome cutting edd department and he needs to be recalled.

You have to be available to work, period; they don't care if you're too sick, or even if you have a doctor's note.

You can also call Bank of America & tell them you have not received it yet and they will send you one if you’ve been notified of approval...good luck!
It's 2023 and they are still having issues, can't log in to caljobs,three long waits,to get someone on the phone to help with not allowing me to log in,two visits to there office,got help from two separate employees both visits,they couldn't help me so they gave me the Same!800 number to call AGAIN, explain everything AGAIN,just to be hung up on🤬
Yeah, yore disqualified for any time you openly admit to being sick for a day or two, meaning no benefits paid for those days, because we all work seven days a week without getting two days off, sick or not, right?

If you still make $450 dollars a week from your remaining jobs, you won't qualify.

If you put "No I did not look for work" you will be asked why and to type a reason,
Example Answer: Covid-19, High Risk, Not Safe.
The following time you have to certify your benefits people can just select "Yes" you looked for work as the lady said in the video and you get back on track :)

I have three jobs. My primary job. My door dash job. And my made up fake job that when i applied for benefits, i did not even put a name down for it.
Guess what? I collected almost 16,000 dollars from the edd. And I make way over the $450.00 cap limit.

Now ask me how many people i know who has it like that and haven't worked an hour in the past 15 to 20 years. I would say about a dozen! Yeah i could've claimed it with my health not 100% but i loke working. Feels good when you cash that check. Funky bunch had it right. I was telling a yarn.
