- I finally got a chance to try out a fully-committed location manipulation deck again with Nocturne in the mix, and I was absolutely astounded by the results!

Power Estimate: This was built as a meme deck, but it had a crazy 9-3 run for me, so part of me wonders if all the disruption potential actually makes this a promising idea. Perhaps this could be a viable archetype with a few key changes that add some generally good cards like Jeff and Dr. Doom instead of stuff like Galactus and Magik.

Love to see Regis revisiting his old meme decks, while including new cards
does anyone have cool subs for nocturne? I know that its a location changer but I dont have it.
@thomasbrodie-sangsteredits5971 Maybe one of the old Thanos staples like Obsidian or Mockingbird for more power. But you might want something that can be hit by Iron Lad. He mentioned Nico but you can add something with reach like Vison or Klaw. Polaris would fit if you want similar power/cost. Positioning disruption is also location disruption imo

That first match was pure art. That could not have gone any better.
Wanted to try this deck, but felt that it was a bit to meme-heavy to be reliable. Swapped out Snowguard, Iron Lad and Galactus for Nico, War Machine and Mockingbird. A bit more power and synergy and it works fine for me so far.

I think War Machine would be a great addition to this deck, probably in the place of Lad or a 1cost. It would allow playing Legion or Galactus in a restricted location where they would be unplayable or die otherwise.
War Machine doesn't stop cards from being destroyed in location like Altar of Death, Deaths Domain etc.
@@RevoIveron Right, my bad, I still added it instead of Lad because I thinks it's more useful in case of a Pr.X or any restricted area.
I've also added Mocking Bird instead of Uatu because I felt it misses big points sometimes.
I've won more than half of my games so far with some great 8 cubes.

i feel like it would be really fun if we got an ongoing card that gets power for each time a location has been changed! i reckon wiccan would be a great fit for that effect!
Yeahh, tought of this today. Would be a great effect. And would be broken with Nocturne that can change location a lot of times in a game if you move her with move cards

Galactus was obviously in here for the full meme, since he's technically a location control card. But what do you think we actually replace him with if one wants to run this deck but not have one dead card. Probably just something boring like a red hulk for a big turn 6 drop eh?
Arguably it might make sense to look at something like Dr. Doom, who interacts well with locations being made hard to access/play into, and just puts solid stats across the board, since a lot of the cards in the deck aren't the biggest. Also seen some suggestions in other comments for something like Magneto as being a big guy, but also sometimes able to drag stuff out of locations to keep people from taking advantage, etc.
@@thaddeusgenhelm8979 Those both make sense yeah, and are more on theme then Red Hulk. Even thought hey aren't location control cards, they are at least cards that interact with location in a meaningful way.

I made a deck very similar to this the other day and went on a really solid streak as well. Didn’t have galactus or uatu in it though. Went spider ham magneto

When did they buffed The Watcher? I like his buff but I wish they included a secondary effect that allows him to see every locatiok if he somehow starts in your hand on turn 1.

i love this deck, espesially when people play magik and expect a round 7 and i play legion or move nocturne and win the game a round early xD
I didn't have all the cards so I added Nico, Jeff, and Luke Cage to combo with negative power locations. This deck is SO fun

It's crazy how people can play meme decks with a 70% winrate, then I play hela and lose every game, either hela gets leeched or discard hela with death in hand from lady sif because opponenet had priority and played 2 cards into hotel inferno. Just the normal luck you know.

content creators play different matchmaking queues than the general population. The game is largely controlled wrt winrate to keep you playing and paying by feeding you wins and losses

This might actually be the worst deck I've ever played. Lol Even worse than my "All the Spidey Villains" deck.
I went like 0-10 with it. Dropped out of the top 2000s (not bragging, just pointing out I do know how to play).
I swapped Galactus for Blob (good card & has a location based ability). Ended up swapping out Blob for Shang-Chi just to see if I could get some wins (first 4-5 games, a turn 6 Shang-Chi would have won me the game), but no, that didn't help.
Woof, it was it bad.
Sadly I was hoping it would at least be fun, but I drew Quake like 3 times in 10 games so not even as much fun as I should have had.

Every time you do this you have a great win rate and plenty of fun maybe the secret ingredient is you!
The moment we get cards that get buffs based on how many times a location gets changed, this deck will start seeing a lot of play.

I mean, all a deck needs to be a legion storm combo deck are those two cards lol, plus you have tempo from stones to help. I can sorta see how this deck wins if you hope location changes work as disruption.

He generally doesn‘t snap when recording games because he doesn‘t want people to constantly retreat.

Idk if you've ever explained this in previous videos that I haven't watched yet...but just curious on why you clip your videos out of order in terms of the games you play? On this video for example, you said you were 6:2 but it was your third game on the video I think.
Games are in an order that's basically:
1. Best game showcasing the "idea" of the deck perfectly (sometimes a fun thing, sometimes the new card, whatever)
2. 2-3 games also featuring really fun games with the idea
3. 1 game with something weird/unusual, usually a shorter game
4. A loss showcasing a key weakness of the deck
5. One more good game with main idea saved up
6. Mix of regular games and losses until we get to 30-35 minutes
Of course that's not always perfectly achievable depending on how recording goes, but that's the rough idea. Sometimes mix it up if something crazy happens (like a loss can be first).
There's essentially no value in games being sequential, people come to see something specific, not just whatever random game happened to be first. So I curate their experience instead of letting fate do it.
I get that he doesnt use variants for his cards but what about cardbacks, whats the argument there 🤨
BTW once you snap you can't retreat on the same turn, so you were perfectly safe snapping back the first game for those free 4 extra cubes.
