    Amy and I have the same boots. Really comfortable.

      Sweet!
      I’m going to be doing a video talking about risk factors and safety. Recently witnessed a pretty horrific incident and I want to explain to people how to prevent it. I’m using the boots as a comparison, and it’ll probably piss a few people off ;).
      But I gotta do it, boots are a pet peeve of mine. A lot of our friends wear the Formas too.

    You'd never think 'freeway' riding would be much fun, but I-90 across Idaho and into Montana over 4th of July Pass and Lookout Pass are actually decently twisty, pretty, and entertaining. I never minded making that drive/ride (in the summer - those passes get NASTY in the winter and are often shut down).
    It's funny you mentioned 'pumping your own gas'. LOL That was something that always wacked me out in OR when I would travel down there - other people not only putting gas in my vehicles, but not even *letting* me pump my own gas. Felt so alien and weird to me 👽

    • @OregonMotorcycle
      @OregonMotorcycle  Před 2 lety +1

      In Oregon, motorcyclist pump their own gas. In Montana, we pumped gas with nobody working. The store was closed, but the pumps were still open;)

      I’ve lived in Oregon too long to remember what it’s like in “normal” places… when the gas station is closed in OR they often turn off the pumps, too. So when we were low I was worried we couldn’t get gas with the station closed. 🤣 Turned out to not be a problem in Montana!! 🥳

    I'm commenting before watching the whole video, so this might be premature. You should try the Go Cruise throttle locks instead of the Cramp Busters. The Go Cruise levers are much easier to use, and they don't interfere with your hand as the throttle is rotated. The Go Cruise also lets you remove your hand from the throttle when necessary... can't do that with the Cramp Busters. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

      Yeah I seen those too.
      Not a fan of the cramp buster.

      Thanks for the tip! I wasn’t a huge fan of the cramp buster, either.

    I would definitely invest in one of those attachable gas cans. When I would travel with my Goldwing pulling my trailer I always had an additional 2 gallons of gas attached to the tongue of the trailer. You just never know

    • @OregonMotorcycle

      Great idea.

    • @dcijams
      @dcijams Před 2 lety +1

      I saw in your video that you’ve been traveling between 75 and 80 miles an hour. For me that’s way too fast. When I’m pulling the trailer on the gold wing Areli exceed 65 miles an hour. But on secondary roadways were I can get away with doing 60 miles an hour I got my very best gas mileage. With the wing and a trailer weighed 200 pounds And another 250 pounds of Camping gear and equipment in the back. I was averaging 34 miles to the gallon. I see those 500s have a 4.7 gas tank question. So have you ever done a comparison dropping your speed to 65 and running a full tank and see what type of differential you got between speeds?

      @@dcijams interesting test idea! We need another road trip! 🥳

    • @ljoelmchanley3676
      @ljoelmchanley3676 Před rokem

      @@dcijams I road trip on my cb500x and used secondary roads ONLY because I don't like travelling over 60 mph, I love the experience of the back-roads and I never set daily distance goals because I love stopping for breaks and pics often not to mention the little cb gets slightly viby when you get over 62 mph indicated. At this pace keeping it 60 and below I get 72+ mpg...it's got a good range. Maybe a liter or two extra gas is a good idea for remote areas. Safe travels.

    This video could've been so much better. Your camera angle facing towards you is annoying, the fact after few mins you keep showing maps and road travelled is also annoying, don't need to see that. Most bike videos viewer just wants to watch the bike, the noise of the bike and the road.

      Doesn't ItchyBoots... who has one of the most successful motorcycle travel channels on CZcams, often show maps and video of her face while riding? Just saying. LMFAO at this comment.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard Před 2 lety

      @Charging UK I notice that you haven't contributed any videos on your channel. Why leave nasty comments instead of just CHANGING THE CHANNEL and making the world just a little bit happier?!
      You sound like every other flaccid armchair quarterback who second-guesses other people's actions and accomplishments. How about this: why don't YOU buy a motorcycle, all of the riding gear to travel across the country, and all the camera equipment to record YOUR adventure? Then you can spend your personal time to edit and publish the video for someone exactly like you to piss and poke and critique it, and then leave nasty comments for you to read.
      Content creators like us are enthusiasts, not professional videographers. We enjoy motorcycling, touring, and sharing those experiences with like-minded riders. If you aren't contributing to the community with your own content or constructive feedback, then you're just another angry video consumer with an acute case of cranial rectitis. 😒👎
