Honest opinion from someone’s who played under 100 hours in a year. Community is extremely welcoming. The game is still really fun but there is some issues currently with optimization and graphics atm and some issues with server ticks but still well worth the price

This map gave me my best sniping game. I got 10 kills in a matter of a couple minutes thanks to the other team putting down a HAB in the wide open on the hill on the opposite side of the valley from me.

Added new map - Anvil. This map is based in Afghanistan, featuring a unique canyon environment with villages and farms in the valley and rocky desert terrain above.
Yep! So Anvil was originally part of the Aussie mod that was purchased by OWI a couple years ago. It came with the faction, Anvil, and Lashkar Valley, based on two locations Aussie troops fought.

New DLC confirmed - Space Tanks
Anvil clearly needs a revamp.. with what the devs are proposing for Manic, it looks like it could be put on this path. Manic was a big valley, where vehicles and TOWs sniped each other and infantry fought on 10% of the map.
Anvil is the same.. ngl I never play infantry on this one.

if both teams are good and are communicating anvil is greadt, the issue is the skill and knowhow required makes bad SLs even worse and u die in the valley
That part where two M1A1s were taken out by a dude makes me think of that time a bunch of Leopards were taken out by ISIS dudes who snuck up to their position, pretty badass.

As clean of a flank as it was the second kill should never have happened simply because video game logic of a tree eating a tank round when the tree's limbs are probably smaller than the tank round.

ok, how the hell are players able to see so damn far? when i'm playing it seems like all i see is a fog after a few hundred meters. are there some sort of settings that i'm missing?
Big screen an the longer you play the better you can tell enemy troops apart from their surroundings.
When I started playing Squad I also died 80% without knowing from where I got shot.
Also communication is key as it enables you to scan a certain area more thoroughly.
Biggest problem of potato fields servers is that the vehicles are first come first serve which explains why the asset players are so stupid

They do lol every vehicle has a armor model and tanks and light Vic’s have ammo racks that can be penetrated

That was one of the worst helo insertions I've seen in a while, at the start of the match...Took way too long to pick an LZ and took a long time to land too. He was a sitting duck!
