Eventually, there will be long term studies that justify trans surgeries. Because that’s how the industry works. The real argument is in Jacob’s final question “how do we know anything?”
1 when the nature of the evidence of these “studies” is the self report of perception of believer, it will inevitably come back in the affirmative on the whole
2 the entire question of transgender treatment assumes the logical/ontological reality that gender is biologically based. With that assumption they have to reference male/female to identify as something not male/female.
3 scientific evidence can help clarify how we experience reality, but it doesn’t define reality, per se.

    @raiklaub975 Před rokem +23

Hi Matt, Jacob's question wasn't a bad one, but:
you do before/after studies to compare one method with another. E.g. whether you should use one surgical method or the other for a cruciate ligament tear. Before/after- Studies are not suitable for determining whether the operation itself was good. You need other studies for that, namely those with control groups. One group is operated on, the other is not. So: to see whether a trans operation is useful, one would have to compare a group of children who want it and then have the operation. And compare it with a group of children who also want it, but who do not get the operation.
You would have to compare these two groups after 10, 20, 30 years. However, since the desire to transition in most children resolves itself after a few years anyway, I think the outcome is likely in favor of "no surgery".
In any case, the before/after studies cited by Jacob are not suitable for scientific proof of the usefulness of trans operations. The scientists concerned should actually know that. But they come from the gender area. Since this is not about science but about ideology, the studies are of course wrongly structured. Who would have expected anything else?

Although that would be a much better study from what we have so far, it might still not be conclusive, because the test subjects might be biased as well. They might believe, being convinced by their doctors, and by the fact that they spent a lot of money on the surgery, that it was really worth it and that they're happy now (because if they wouldn't, they would have admit that they've got duped), and that the surgery has really improved their level of happiness. What makes a woman a woman is that she is born a woman physically. Samething for a man. How we think and act is different. In general, women act and do things women do. Same thing for men. For both, some are more masculine, and some are more feminine. What you do, how you dress and how you feel dosent play a factor on it, they play a factor with social norms and stereotypes. That's way we say if your born a man or woman, you can't change that. If you feel like the opposite then there is some type of disconnect and if you only think your the opposite sex bc of what you like to do, how you dress or specific stereotypes. You most likely are very confused, mislead or you have gender dysphoria. Which, then you should go see a specialist and figure it out. Ppl should except themselves for who they are and set themselves for the body they were born in. Taking it any further than that without any proof is dangerous and damaging to our society.

To Matt’s last question In response to the last question in how to protect our children from swinging to the left and adopting these horrifying ideologies, he stated to stay the hell away from the public school system. I agree and we do. Im a Canadian however I think things are similar to the U.S.
Weve sent my kids to private school since kindergarten, but now as my son is heading into grade 8, my wife is thinking of transferring him to highly rated public school, cause of the other alternate courses and curriculum that seem more scholastically focused then the private school and she feels it may prepare him better for future university entrance choices etc
She also says “at some point he’ll have to face these ideologies anyway”
I disagree with her thinking. How could I respond with a decent argument?

    • @daleford8621

That he should be old enough and learned enough to combat those ideologues before they're shoved into his face. You and she should be teaching him about the existence of these ideologies and how they're wrong. Then arm him with the ability to argue against them. All the info you've gathered on this nonsense should be passed onto him. Also introduce him to people like Matt Walsh and the rest of DW. You'll have inoculated him against the manipulations required for this ideology to gain a foothold in his mind.

I didnt post anything or do what theyre doing now though. But as I turned 16/ 17, I started to open up my eyes more. and now as a young adult, I have truly woken up to I would say, almost everything.. Stay strong. To the woman who asked the last question about preventing your future children from falling into the indoctrination trap…
    HOMESCHOOL!
I know that’s what I will be doing. And it’s what I recommend to everybody that I know.
At least, until your child has been formed into the adult that you want them to be and you have engrained in them, the truth about the world and the way that it works.
And then, if you want to let them go to middle school, or, high school to socialize, I’d see no problem in that.
However, willingly choosing to let the government and strangers raise your child from the time they’re in kindergarten all the way through university age, is absolutely WILD to me.
I want my children to have as much time with me and their mother as they can, so that they can be taught the truth about all aspects of life.
Especially, the aspect of how our government has lied to us and continues to lie to us, all of the time.
They should be taught how to watch the news the correct way and how to take in information while also knowing how to challenge that information and fact check. And also, how to learn without having their thoughts controlled.
There is a difference between listening to your teachers and taking in all of the information about the class that they have to offer and choosing not to listen to their insane ideologies that have absolutely nothing to do with the class that they’re supposed to be teaching.
And there’s a difference between listening to somebody report on what is happening and somebody trying to force you to behave/think a certain way, or, demonizing you for not sharing the same opinions as them. Also, having the skills necessary to differentiate between an opinion and a fact.

It seems as if people have the misconception about “peer reviewed studies”, as if they hold some significant weight when trying to legitimize claims. All peer reviewed means is that an “expert(s) in that same field agreed with what was written. If you want something that’s help up to a high level of scrutiny, then scientific research papers would be a more reliable source, and when it comes to mutilating children, I’ve seen no research papers that prove these operations or medications to be beneficial.
