Greg Kinnear is such an underrated actor
Greg Kinnear made this mini-series somewhat watchable
He’s the best part of the new version
Agreed. He played his role outstandingly
Facts.
@@shawnhoelscher8164 yeah you can say this again.
1:02 the banners are the Eye of the Crimson King turned sideways! Love that little detail.
Nice catch
And in episode 8 the hand of god electricutes the banners setting them on fire
Since he doesn't like the crimson king
He still hasn't forgotten who is master is sure Flagg was powerful but he still answers to The Crimson King
The “fault in our stars” line with Nat Wolf. What the absolute fuck lol.
For it's faults, I really like how Lloyd was handled in this series.
Me personally did not rather it was just one for one Lloyd from the book but glad you dug it.
@@randallrobertson6042 no it wasn't. he was way more incompetent in this. Joining Flagg made his mind work better. he sill looked like a simpering idiot the whole time. Go watch the original tv miniseries to see a real Lloyd.
@brokenman58 sorry if I worded it weird but I said I'd rather have a one for one Loyld. I know this was a bad take of him, he was my fave character in the book.
@@randallrobertson6042 understood and apologies. I just can't get over how many people in the comments think his character was done well. He seems like a weak simpering fool in this one
I've read the unabridged book five or six times. I had the feeling this remake was gonna be trash, so I skipped it. This clip confirms that I made the right decision
Same 😂
I dig this "King of the Trailer Park" interpretation of Lloyd, the Babyfaced Killer. And Glen remains my favorite character, I love that his death and the major impact of his words actually got to be SEEN by people!
That it wasn't was the entire point in the original so Larry could yell at the crowd, " You'll all be shot "running away" someday." So many morons now
The Stand 1994 did the Death of Glen better, just saying.
What didn't the 1994 one do better?
The 1994 adaption did EVERYTHING better. Just saying.
Better Glenn and followed the book closer
I'm far from a hater of the new show, I think it has a lot of merits, and when people think of the 1994 version they forget that 90% of it was pure, unadulterated cheese.
But this scene in particular, yep, the original was sooooo much more powerful...
Miguel Ferrer (RIP...) was a fantastic Lloyd, and a Jamey Sheridan a great Flagg.
Not really, the first one was one dimensional
You can destroy my body but never my soul.
Nat and Greg made a movie where they were father and son, now Nat’s shooting Greg. Character arc.
Nat wolff is amazing big part of my childhood
I really wish they had stayed true to the book.
Flagg enjoying it all on the other side of the camera😂
Love Greg Kinnear!
This is one of the few good parts of the series. It’s completely different from the book and in general this scene is dumb. But this interpretation of Glen handled this scene in a fresh way that I kinda like, even if literally everything else about this is dumb
It's different than the book and he looks 20 years too young but i think it was good- this generation of idiots in a nutshell
As someone who’s never read the book, I thought the series was amazing
@@BoredSudoku read the book. You will be disgusted at how bad this version was. The original tv miniseries did FAR better especially with Flagg.
Hollywood just can't help but destroy novels by rewriting events. They should have stuck to the books version of Glenn's demise.
It’s unlikely to ever happen now after *two* TV mini series, but The Stand needs a theatrical adaptation. The Gunslinger should have been a series. Both of the above were, I believe, planned at one point.
I liked this scene, shame it was already going downhill before this lol
The Stand needs an HBO adaptation
Yeah
Please upload the whole scene.
Man, I came here looking for a Flagg compilation / Lloyd and Flagg interactions and...
and I am profoundly energized by the fact I never watched whatever tf this is.
agreed. They seem to have changed so much into utter shit
This show is just terrible, I mean was it really that hard to stay true to the source material.
This abomination gets anywhere near staying true to the source the source will scream in agony before imploding in on itself just to make it stop.
Apperantly? But then Hollywood's magic is long since dead.
@@marieterese2926 Sorry it took me so long to reply but yeah I agree but you can make a faithful adaptation and take a few liberties, you don’t have to make it 100 percent faithful. This show took way too many unnecessary liberties and it ended up being quite pathetic. Hopefully we will get a better updated version of The Stand soon from a different writer and streaming service.
Three minutes and five seconds was enough for me.
I didn't like it
The court scene was so good
Can you upload the part where Flagg dances?
I second this comment!
That made me so happy lol
I'm so glad I passed on watching this. It would have ruined the original miniseries for me
Ok oldie
@@88amac4u no, he just knows good filmmaking - which this wasn't, child.
How can you make an assumption without viewing? I think both mini series are great
@@hilarylawbaugh8836no the remake is awful.
Am I the only one who actually prefers this scene over the book's version? I feel this was more focused on Lloyd rather than on Flagg's ego
it was a way Glen never would have acted. He had too much self dignity
No way! This entire scene was TRASH
Wow. This takes way to many liberties from the book
People suck for hating on this
Did they know each other from before? And they cut that part out?
Feels like it.
Im assuming that he knew him from the robbery gone wrong
2.09 flagg takes over lloyd and over kills glen
Nat wolff was a good actor here with greg kinnear
Damn Kat Mcnamara is fine
Definitely the most redeeming part of this remake
This is the second time I seen Greg Kinnear get killed
What was the first? Mystery Men?
Yes
Wow. This is so accurate. Ahem. How amazing.
I was about to give you shit but then I saw what you were doing there. Yes probably the most accurate part of the whole series
Ratio of good actors to bad actors in this is heavy on the bad side. 👎
Only good actors in this series was Harold and Franny. Hoping Franny’s actress gets another Stephen King adaptation
@@ericcartman7361 wtf
Flagg and Glen were great too
Why did they remake this?
Just watching the couple of clips I have makes me so glad I never watched this disaster.
HBO should redo this show sooner rather than later and fix this mess of an adaptation.
Yeah it was not good
Bad Adaptation, but decently enjoyable show.
Ezra sucked though
This needs an HBO adaptation
I wanted to like it but couldn't
@@michaelleyroy9701 same
1.Chris Nolan did it better with the Scarecrow putting Gothams elite on trial.
2. Flagg is Frans Baby.
this scene happened in a jail room, in front of Flagg with Flagg screaming for Glen to be shot. Jesus, is everything about this remake so shit?
The book is 1,152 pages. I've read it twice. I watched the 1994 mini-series twice as well. This - I didn't finish after the first hour. It's actual garbage.
If you're going to change the story to this level, then just write your own story. This series was the biggest let down in TV I have ever been a part of.
Same. Only good thing about this series was Harold and Franny. Hoping Franny’s actress gets another Stephen King adaptation.
They had a great formula to adapt it, especially the uncut version ; bigger budget, (mostly) spot on casting, significantly longer run time, modern effects. But the writers were the awful factor with their nonsense narrative style and complete oversimplification of characters and stories. I’m convinced they read the spark notes for the uncut version and wrote it completely off of that.
The Fault in our Stars line said to Nat was a bit on the nose.
I'm so glad I avoided watching this dribble. I've been watching snippets of the show instead and I can barely make out what the hell is going on. It's like someone blended the stand with a low-rate 'J and Silent Bob' knockoff brand. It's like if RC cola dispenses arse flavored diet sodas. Yes that's a good metaphor. This series the 'can of arse flavored diet knock off sodas' of the Stephen King adaptions.
It is a stain on the original. A stain that appeared after a sloppy and suspiciously wet sounding fart.
It's full of garbage. But has good parts to it. But mostly ugh.
@@-m7k0z7-9 That's why I'm staying as faaaaaar away from it as I can. It's on my "watch for free or not" list of things to watch.
Didn't watch it....... claims to have an intelligent opinion on it...... yeah doesn't check out
@@juliastitely7899 I've seen snippets off it and seen reviews. I've heard it's awful. You do realize that people don't have to watch something to have an opinion about it? Getting pissy at me and pretending that I'm convinced of my own superiority would ONLY be a valid criticism if I made a giant over the top fuss about how smart I am. I didn't and haven't done that now have I? Quit trying to simp for this movie. I don't have to deal with whinging morons who have just showed up so they can go "Huh?! You think you're so smart don't ya?!" People think the tv show is shit! Get over it already!
@@Demogorgon47 literally the definition of having an informed opinion is seeing it. I don’t mind if someone has seen it and said it’s trash. Clearly people can have their own opinions. By all means: if someone has ACTUALLY seen it and critiques it: idgaf.
But if you haven’t seen it: it sounds like you just want the circlejerk to tell you how smart you are, when anyone whose opinion matters would watch something before they comment on it. Its not simping to call you out on an uneducated opinion, you’re the moron here bro.
I really like Greg Kinnear but this scene was a million times more powerful in the original miniseries. This version was terrible.
The Stand 2020 sucks
Yep. Rereading the book and thought I'd take a peak at the 2020 series online. Once again confirms my decision not to watch it.
@@ricklange6059 yeah it pissed me off.
No.
This lloyd Sucked compared to the 94 version.
What is this garbage? Bateman was shot in a cell, he never once set foot in a court room. None of them did.
The creators designed this series to be extreme right-wing propaganda, hence the radical departures from the book. This scene is meant to pander to delusional conservatives who believe the US is at the mercy of a corrupt liberal-dominated judicial system.
That's called adaptation
I don't know if you know what it is
This series made me root for the bad guys. What a mess.
Wtf are you talking about?
Everything about this series just so over the top and bad. Follow the source material, modernize it if u must but dont' tell a different damn story
Why? The 1994 series did a great job at interpreting the book, they had the right to change it up a bit in a new adaptation. People don't like 2013 Carrie because it didn't change enough but now people are hating on this and Pet Sematary 2019 for changing TOO much?!
King himself and his son Owen were heavily involved in this production. It’s his to adapt.
I’m hoping HBO will eventually get around to remaking The Stand right.
@@ericcartman7361 Give em another 26 years.
@@joshchelf7729 nah I prefer sooner
God this sucks
I agree. The Stand had so much potential for a remake, but sadly we got writers who didn’t give a sh!t and made the most pathetic adaptation of a Stephen King novel. What’s sad is that most bad Stephen King adaptations are enjoyable to watch but this was anything but enjoyable.
Lmao!!!😂😂😂
Remember in the book and OG miniseries when Glen Bateman literally laughed in the Dark Man's face, completely undercutting the dude and any power he wielded over him? What even is this scene???
The "fault is on stars" line was kinda embarrassing
This looks like a parody of the stand. wtf is this
I loved the newer Stand. Critics suck lol
Everything except for this scene was bloody awful. You don’t have to be a critic to recognize bad storytelling
Stick to the source material... Uuuuuuugh
This was the only good scene in the show lmao, this is just...shit.
This one sucked
This series is so bad it's bad.
Farcical acting, script and effects.
Miguel ferrer was better this dudes a clown
way to ruin the book with this garbage.
Hoping HBO will get around to remaking this right
Not ruined for me -- I still got my hard copy. I reread it to exorcise the memory of this dreck.
Stephen King is such a lousy writer. Trying to humiliate a guy holding a gun on you, when everyone wants him to shoot you, is pretty freaking stupid. But that is Stephen King's style of sophomoric dialogue.
Have you read the book? this is a serious question...
