This turned out so pretty! I’m in cosmo school & I wanted this type of color as a shadow. My hair is about the same base color as hers & I’ve never had my hair lightened before. My instructor told me when I went to do this that you don’t prelighten with an oil slick-I thought that was odd as we’ve always been taught to get a color pop, you have to prelighten! As I suspected the colors we added-purple & green, didn’t show up (purple did BARELY, but no green did) Every video I’ve watched of an oil slick on darker hair shows to prelighten too. What’s your advice? Also, when I went back to redo it with prelightening the second time, once it was lifted, the parts we had put green on originally, showed all of the green! My instructor when I asked about why the green would finally show after I lifted, she said she didn’t know..can you explain why it’s do that?
