Camdon was born in March of 2012. A few hours after he was born, nurses noticed that Camdon was turning blue, and he was immediately sent to the neonatal intensive care unit at Nationwide Children's. There, doctors discovered a problem with Camdon's heart called tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary atresia. Within a week of receiving this news, Camdon was also diagnosed with DiGeorge syndrome, also known as 22q Deletion Syndrome. 22q Deletion Syndrome is a micro deletion on the 22nd chromosome. 22q Deletion Syndrome occurs in one out of every 4,000 births and has the potential to impact every system in the body, often leading to a wide-range of health issues. Despite all his struggles, Camdon continues to thrive and loves to dance his way through life.
As someone who has 22q I do not have the physical effects I have the learning disabilities of this. It is hard sometimes and people don’t know about this and whenever I tell someone about it they are confused. I hope the world knows more about this syndrome
My daughter just got diagnosed with 4q she’s 3 years old now and doesn’t do what a normal 3 years usually does which walk and talk instead she’s always laying down please tell me she will one day walk and talk with me ..

I have tratalgoly of fallot, pulmonary stenosis, and VSD. I was born with it. I am 13 now. My hostipal saved me.

I just saw this and wow thank goodness he's doing alright, my Reese is 10 with R22 and found it soothing to see that your son has a big older sis like mine does, my daughter is 15 and helps alot so hopefully your daughter does the same
@Molly Magrum r22 as in ring 22 ?? my 40 yr old son has ring 22 . My son was part of the mapping of the 22 chromosome about 25 years ago when he was approx. 15 yrs old
@Angir Gie I think t was done in either usa but more likely in England ..the test kit was snail mailed to me ,in Australia (Queensland)
I know some of the struggles with 22q Deletion Syndrome. Did you know there's a camp for children and adults who are diagnosed with 22q and Autism? It's located in Pennsylvania. I wish you well on your journey.
