Quite an intriguing system. On a project I was superintendent on, we installed a system that was 54 x 122 three leg side by side system,,, that was 4 years ago and no complaints since the client occupied the building. As someone else said,,, the changes in septic systems over the years is amazing. Looks like you and the Captain have things under control,,, think I'll go grab a nap.

I’ve seen a few similar to this in northern Illinois, more like a sand mound. Had a pump that pumped the liquid thru it and then thru another chamber and it came out clean water that drained to the ditch. A lot of those failed, think they were called cavatate systems. Our land is all pit run (potato size rocks), perks real good. We have a tank and field, never had a problem, House is 42 years old.
I have a pulverizer for my tractor, it’s a poor mans Harley rake. Great video.

Nice install Mike! Crazy how different systems are done across the country. Never seen one done like that basically above ground, ours go into the ground quite a ways and we just use regular perforated pipe for our leach field. Great video! I'm sure you've figured it out by now. But for your Harley rake, lift the boom and tilt it forward to get those wheels on the ground. They span the gap and stabilize and help with carrying your grade (just like a grader and your grader attachment). Then you can fine tune your up and down movements on the fly and it blends everything together nicely. Hope that helps!

Set it deep then try to feather it with it with the hydraulics. They are nice and it looks like you can angle your rake too. hope your skidder has a creep function for when you are working larger areas. Power rakes dont like big rocks which you found out lol.

I know this comment is a little late but it must be nice being able to Harley rake the mound. In our area we're not allowed on them with any piece of equipment. That and the sand has to taper off on the downhill side tol with no greater then a 12% slope if I recall correctly. Anyhow awesome job, looks great. And yes the front mount takes have a big of a learning curve lol.

I've done hundreds of septic systems. Up North we have to dig a test hole ranging from 14' to 18' to hit water table. Never seen this style before. We use H10 tanks for out home use and H20 for heavy duty so it can be driven over it in the front of a home. Atleast 3' under grade. Only time we used a style of mounding dirt was near the water so tanks wouldn't be set in water table

Interesting system, in reading the comments you mentioned limiting layer is the restriction after a quick google with no relevant knowledge. Is the benefit of this system that it can be placed on soil with low permeability so it can only encroach into the native soil so far, but can have soil placed and contoured as wanted above it.
Either way interesting video, always good to see you and the captain working together. Looking forward to any other videos you have in the vault waiting to come out along with any newer videos you may post. I’m sure people are excited to see your latest equipment additions. Stay safe.
