I had DDP 3-2, just. My 16yo and I got up at 4am UK to watch most of the Main Card. A fan of both but glad DDP won. Would be interested in seeing them run it back some other time 🙏🏾

DDP 2, 3 and 4 but it was razor thin. If DDP defends vs Adesanya they should run it back with Sean. If Izzy wins Strick also get the title shot.

Did you guys pickup on the numbers DDP corner was calling out...its like they were telling him when to switch stance,when to kick/throw combo...and seeing DDP responding to it...
Anyone coulda won that fight, not DDPs best performance but I still think he won that fight
Not Sean’s best performance either, since there’s no definitive winner, book the rematch
DPP looked a lot better in the Whitaker fight IMO. I don’t know if it was his timing, distance or accuracy but he won regardless. He just looked faster and more explosive in the Whitaker fight.

Strickland the world Champion couldn't show more that his jab. Say's a ton. The SA guy gave brutal kicks, high and low, and never left his face. He backed up Strickland when that never happened in his last fight. He won. maybe by, not a lot, but he f'ing won.
lol yeah so many brutal low kicks yet ddp is the only one left the octagon limping, truth is judges decided the fight based on the cut on seans face which undeniably came from a headbutt

The jab is different, way different. The eye test says a lot of those jabs were significant blows and landed more often

I think DDP learnt lots. To get Strickland on the heels he took many jabs... There surely is a better way, perhaps front kicks but his game plan almost backfired.

Strickland jab is tough, ddp looked terrible after the fight. That jab has to be scored different at times because that’s a top notch professional boxer type jab. Ddp did well but did not exceed expectations in this one.

One thing Sean can't do is threaten. He can press and snipe,and jab you to death, but there's never the threat of consequences from his power or ability to effect the fight with one punch, he can't bluff or feint has much against good chins who would have to react and read on a whole different level if Sean had more power.
Doesn't really help when Dana White agrees with the bots, guy needs to get out of his own way.

Sean won the first 2 rounds with the heavy jabs and pace and defended the takedowns perfectly. DDP did nothing notable with the takedowns. They all visibly led to nothing. Then Sean secured the W in the 5th landing the bigger shots and had the bigger moments. Props to DDP he's a tough bastard but to be the man got to beat the man, not squeak out a split decision.
If you slam an opponent after a takedown you delivered a strike that has the potential to end the fight

Yeah, cuz they are all take down artists. People don't wanna see that. DDP missed so many hits. I think it was really close and idc who wins. But it's literally all about what judges are there. In the Yan/Omalley fight, the takedowns didn't mean as much. But in this fight, it meant everything

@@mr.e6748if you listened to their reaction videos they have no respect for Strickland’s style of fighting whatsoever. The sport is about dealing effective, damaging shots to the opponent, not doing fun little kicks and a double leg that leads to nothing. DDP looks absolutely mangled today. Strickland looks like he had a good sparring session.
Dricus did not bring his best tonight not one of his best fights. He was too reserved, not his normal self. Just dont think he left his heart in the cage.

Rogan and his guys called it strongly for Sean. Dana said that he seen it from the judges angle and that Sean won. In a street fight we determine who wins by who ends the strongest and inflicts the most damage. What an embarrassment it must be for the UFC to keep showing the battered face of Dricus and having to claim that he won.

The fact that Dana White did not thrash the judges after the fight shows that he knows it could have gone either way. Cant fault you for having it for Sean since it was a really close fight, heck I thought it was a draw but calling it a robbery just makes you look like an idiot
