Arab American voters could significantly impact the 2024 presidential election, particularly in Michigan, home to the largest Arab community in the United States. Many of these voters, incensed at U.S. support for the Israeli war on Gaza, have mobilized over the past year to pressure the Biden administration to change policy, including by casting hundreds of thousands of ballots for "uncommitted" in Democratic primary elections to signal their demand for policy changes. We speak with Osama Siblani, founder and publisher of _The Arab American News_, who has had several meetings with senior figures from the White House and the Democratic presidential campaign. Despite all those meetings, "nothing has happened" except "more killing," Siblani says. "Something has to be done to stop Benjamin Netanyahu's appetite for killing."

Protesting against the two party system with ballot is equivalent to aiding and abiding the side that doesn't do this. And that side is the Republican Party. There are avenues to change the two party system and by all accounts it's easier to do so when the political climate shifts more to the left than it is now. There is no rational reason to cast a protest vote when your democracy is at stake.

It's not a protest vote it's a vote to build a movement that can finally challenge the broken statue quo rather than just surrendering to lesser evils forever.

The Israel/Palestine situation has been an impossible mess for many years. Untangling that pretzel will be a huge lift and not a straightforward matter. It’s incredibly complex and both sides hate each other. Yes, innocent Palestinians being killed is horrible. No question. There needs to be a ceasefire. But Hamas started this. There was never harmony. To claim there was is disingenuous. Israel is our ally. Netanyahu needs to go. That may or not help the situation. You can oppose the Democratic candidate as is your right. But that will only get you Donald Trump for President and he cares about no one, least of all the Palestinians.
