How can you replace the "first VP, first black woman to serve with a black president"?

I didn't realize Joe Biden was black, what made you say that he is?
Or do you think Obama is still president?
First, Harris will likely be the replacement candidate. It helps them remain able to use Biden/Harris campaign contributions, while a completely new ticket would not, or would at least cause lawsuits/delays/confusion about that. But equally true, if she chose to stay on as VP on the ticket, it takes care of the contribution issue even better (I can imagine SCOTUS saying that just changing spots on the ticket changes the entire ticket, so the money can't be used). It should be her decision, but I think that it would be an amazingly good move on her part to continue running as VP. If BIden resigns rather than just drops out of the race, and Harris becomes President for a few months, there is nothing saying she couldn't choose to drop back and be VP on the ticket. It wouldn't prevent her from being President for 2 terms in the future, either.
Second, if she wants but fails to become the replacement candidate, it would be because she hasn't gained traction with independents and swing state voters. I think most of the anti-Harris sentiment is from Republicans, but the smearing of her on Fox does reach many Independents also. Strategically, it's better to run someone who they haven't known would be running, so haven't had time to smear yet.
I think she could win, because 100% of the people willing to vote for Biden in his current state, would vote for her. Plus many who would sit out the race due to Trump and Biden both being unfit to serve until 2029, will get off the couch and vote for Harris or ANYONE else the convention might nominate.

@@avedic There is no significant evidence of age related dementia or drug use. The presidential doctors have not raised any alarms. However, both should be tested for age related dementia or Alzheimer's. There is plenty of evidence to be examined regarding Trump whose father had Alzheimer's which is a hereditary disease.
Biden is 81 and some slowing of physical ability and mental acuity should be expected. Trump on the other hand demonstrates many concerning symptoms which I am sure you are aware of.

Though he represented Nevada, Key Denton Pittman was originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi. Seeing the potential in the gold and silver minds out west, he moved to Tonopah, Nevada in 1902. Pittman and his wife, Mimosa, lived at Mizpah Hotel when they first arrived, and by 1908, the couple had built their own home on Prospect Street across from the Tonopah courthouse.

However, this spooky story is nothing more than a folk tale, likely resulting from an odd statement made by one of Pittman’s handlers. According to journalists Barbara and Myrick Land in A Short History of Reno (1995), "One political reporter, it was rumored later, asked one of Pittman's handlers why the senator was making no campaign appearances in this important final week. The handler replied 'We're keeping him on ice.’”
While Pittman’s team may not have hidden the senator in an ice bath, they did deceive the public into electing a dying man. According to an interview with Pittman’s personal physician, Dr. A.J. “Bart” Hood, the senator did suffer a heart attack on November 4, 1940, but he did not die that night. Dr. Hood told Pittman's political lieutenants that there was nothing he could do to save Pittman. Quietly, the senator's associates moved him into Washoe General Hospital. A coronary disease specialist who was flown to Reno from San Francisco concluded, once Pittman regained consciousness, that death was imminent. On November 10, 1940, United States Senator Key Pittman passed away. His supporters plan worked and Governor Edward Carville appointed Democrat Berkley Bunker to take the late senator’s seat.

(I know about Michelle's intransigence; I’ll get to that, stay with me). As to Kamala, she’s earned it and all those technical election rules are addressable if she is on the top of the ticket. The key is Micelle; she’ll add the “juice” we need to the ticket. We’ll win with girl power in the age of Barbie and Taylor Swift! Now to Micelle (and open letter to you): Micelle, you don’t want to be in the political spotlight, I get it, but think about this: tens of thousands of boys were drafted during the Vietnam war; they didn’t want to go, but they went and served (died for) their country. We are at an (terrible) inflection point and you can make a difference, can you really live with yourself if you let Trump win the presidency? And for god’s sake, it’s only the Vice Presidency, you don’t have to do anything, you could not find a place more out of the spotlight than the V.P office. This is why you’re perfect for the position, you can use it as a platform for those initiatives that are near and dear to you, and Kamala SHOULDN’T feel threatened by you because you have no interest in the presidency. Michelle, you’ve had eight years to relax (biking with Oprah), getting rich off of our support of your books, don’t abandon us in our hour of need. A quick note to Joe: we love you; great job, but if you lose, Trump will say it proves you didn’t win the first time and all then all that you’ve done will go down in flames. If Kamala/Micelle win - you win! And Joe, did you remember you have to do another debate close to the election!
