If you are watching this video PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't try to contribute to ANY free open source project. Maintainers have to deal with enough bullshit pull requests with changes to readme files or some shitty code. If you are a beginner (which you 99.999% are because you're watching a youtube video on git) you will only get in the way
And no. It won't get you a job anywhere. Possible employers will only see that you are a public nuisance.
