@@bleepblop9556 From 1990 to 1993, SNL had the most robust concentration of talent that they had ever had -- before or since. During those years, there wasn't a single individual that carried the show. There were just funny, and funnier cast members. The comedic synergy that was produced in those years was incredible. Sadly, all great things must come to an end. Once SNL lost Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Julia Sweeney, Melanie Hutsell, and Phil Hartman -- the show would never be as great as it once was. Thankfully, Norm MacDonald on Weekend Update helped to keep the show somewhat watchable, but then Norm was fired for making offensive jokes; and that was the final death knell, as far as I'm concerned.

It's a darned good thing that Frickin' Fallon never worked with Farley. His tendency to constantly break character and pull focus from everyone else probably would not have sat well with Farley.
Farley did anything to get his coworkers to break character. He usually succeeded.
He pretty much never held it together when with Farley.
Honestly the zoom in with Farley being completely exasperated while panning off screen gets me every single time

He didnt do it to be a dick of course,he was just naturally hilarious. Seems a few people didnt like it but that is to be expected on snl,everyone wants the spotlight. Most of the guys loved sharing a scene with him.

lmao I'm currently reading the book "Live From New York" and there was one part where one of the writers said any time he was stuck in the middle of writing a sketch, he would just write "Farley Enters" and it worked every time.

I love that he's willing to support his son no matter what.
The funniest part of this skit is just watching Sandler try so hard not to laugh.
I love how the only real purpose of these sketches were to serve as a vehicle for Farley to freak out.

Farley was brilliant but Sandlers earlier movies only had Farley do small roles and they were hilarious and did very well. He’s a billionaire now. If he were only mediocre on his own he probably wouldn’t be where he is today.

The way Chris would have his voice go into a quiet, almost out of breath but still upset tone is something his brother said he got from his dad when he got really upset. It's hilarious. You hear it and you're like yeah, I know a guy like that. 😆

I remember being a teenager during the snl years from the early to late 90s. This snl crew helped me get through the hard years of school. They brought me the laughs I needed then during some hard times. Much love to all of them!

Chris Farley had the amazing gift of playing "believably much older characters". His characters were spot on caricatures of men in my grandparents' generation.
When Chris passed, we lost a giant ball of chaotic genuinely funny energy. RIP Chris.

This character is named after one of Adam’s best friends, Tim Herlihy, who you’d definitely recognize from many of his movies.
He was a writer on SNL at the time.
One of the coolest things my father let me do as a child, was watch SNL during this era. Thanks Dad! 😊

These were the best years of SNL for me. Watched it religiously as a teenager. Had the Rolling Stone article about Chris Farley's death on my wall. This cast and the Will Ferrell era can't be beat. Comedy gold that people are still referencing 20 years later. RIP Chris Farley.

It's fascinating. Great in LOST BOYS, Jason Patric gives a solid, committed, professional performance in this sketch, he's quite good, but some people, like him, are specifically born to play the "leading man" archetype. Whereas Chris Farley was kissed by God to make glorious laughter ring out. (And Sandler's good at making America settle for hollow Ponzi scheme fart movies.)

I remember seeing this when I was 14 years old and thinking it was so weird and absurd.
A year ago I bought a t-shirt with the Herlihy Boy Dog Sitting Service graphic from this video.
I didn’t get it in yellow though.
Still love wearing that t-shirt and getting some people who get the reference once in a while...although it’s very rare cuz it was such an obscure sketch.
This takes me back to a far more simple time. This era of SNL was so perfect for my early teen years. Also grateful for Nick at Nite running reruns of the golden years of SNL around the same time.

One of my favorite "What the ...?" running gags from SNL. Of course Farley and Sandler knock it out of the park as usual. And Jason Patric is terrifying here. A great entry!

Saw this as a kid, laughed my ass off. The other one about taking care of grandma really got me. Later in life found out Tim Herlihy is a real person and had been Adam Sandlers comedy partner for years and years.
His son Martin Herlihy is one of the guys that make up Please Don't Destroy.
Fun fact: The "Herlihy" in "Herlihy Boy" comes from SNL writer Tim Herlihy, the college roommate of Adam Sandler and writer of many Sandler movies such as Happy Gilmore, Wedding Singer, Billy Madison, etc.
Also Tim's son Martin Herlihy is now on SNL as a member of "Please Don't Destroy". Interesting!

One of the worst ever made,a bunch of friends sitting around,making fun of eachother with scripted burns they act surprised to. Vacation for them,pure hell for viewers. You could just have said a movie with just Sandler. Too many cooks....
