    I’ve suffered from melasma since I was 16. Melasma was something I thought was genetic and learned to live with it just fine. I’ve also suffered from iron deficiency anemia since my teens. Although I was prescribed iron supplements I never took them. I’m bad about taking pills. 5 yrs ago I started doing chemical peels and microdermabrasion they didn’t help at all and just kept getting worse. By 39 my face was invaded with melasma. Over the last 2 years I tried taking care of my skin by avoiding the sun and using a moisturizer I noticed some improvement a spot here and there gone but that’s it over a 2 year period. About 2 months ago I started to take my prescribed iron pills about 50-75% of the time. Well let me tell you 30 days after starting the pills I happened to take a close look in the mirror and noticed about 50% of melasma from checks and mustache is gone and it’s about 30-50% lighter there is also random spots breaking up the melasma. I’m definetly on to something. My diet is the same for last 5yrs, I drink 5 glasses of water, sun exposure is absolutely minimal, I don’t exercise. The only change is that I started to take iron supplements. Please go to doctor and do a complete lab work and find deficiencies. Maybe treating deficiencies and going to a dermatologist and using skin lighteners. I hope I helped someone.

      Due to hypothyroidism I get my complete blood test done regularly, every micronutrient deficiency is checked and taken care of. Am careful about sun and heat exposure, also not into junk food and sugary delights, yet my melasma is increasing by the day. It is invading faster these days.
      I am exasperated seriously.

    They don't work sustainably. Pigmentation will come back once you stop applying the creams. They do not cure but just control, and you've to keep applying the creams which is taxing and extremely devastating. Therefore, instead of depending on all these creams for your pigmentation, I suggest you cleanse your body through proper diet and regular exercise. Proper Diet and excercise is the cure for pigmentation.

    I wish my dermatologist had prescribed my compound medicine or I had seen this information sooner. My dermatologist is one of the top doctors in her field in my area. She initially prescribed tretinoin at the lowest concentration and when it didn’t work she increased it. As you may know, this medication is not cheap! When it didn’t work she prescribed a compound of hydroquinone, tretinoin, kojic acid, niacinamide, and fluocinolone. I saw visible results within a week. Moreover, it was cheaper than just getting the tretinoin alone! What a waste of a couple of hundred dollars when she should have prescribed the compound from the beginning. Still trying to wrap my head around that! Anyways, thanks for your video!

      Thanks for your feedback! There is no direct link between apple cider vinegar supplements and eczema flare ups. With that said, people have different eczema triggers, and what helps one person may not help you. Although ACV will not balance the overactive immune system that causes eczema, some theorize it may help. Hope that helps!

    I've had melasma on my overlip for many years. My skintone is pretty dark even though I'm I'm Scandinavian😉 . I have a time with a dermatologist because , with age I find it getting darker. I've had it since I was in my teens (now 37). I have thos terrible addiction, smoking and I do know it makes it worse, but still. I've used suncream, factor 50, but still, it get worse with age

Every night before bed and just normal skin rutine in the mornings and sun protection. Will it not just come back . I've been to the dermatologist, sinceI we wrotelast. Mine is hereditary and also because I had to use birth control in a young age, do to strong menstrual pain.

    • @ArsalanAspires
      @ArsalanAspires  Před 2 lety +3

      Alpha arbutin has been a great alternative as well as a method to slowly wean off since it is still a tyrosinase inhibitor, but to a lesser extent than HQ. For about 10$ you can find one from The Ordinary. Not sponsored.
      Above all, refer to your local dermatologist for a thorough analysis. In the meantime check out my video on Alpha Arbutin as well as vitamin c serum.
