I had the same issue with my 2010 Mercury 50hp efi this year. It started out as 6 beeps when it would reach 5200 rpm. Never lost power or went into guardian mode. After the second time took it to the marina and they scanned it and found no issues running it on muffs. It progressively got worse over the summer. The root cause was a short in the wiring harness. Check the wire harness on the starboard side of the engine. There is a set of wires for use with a tiller. The YEL/RED and BLK/YEL on mine had rubbed on metal and were shorting to ground. If running a remote setup these are just looped together, I cut them short and re-connected them and the problem was solved.

Good find on your part, this one was resolved and customer reported all was well. We did have to change a shift cable though.

    Why didn’t it show hours?

It may say it when it recognizes the ecu. I may have skipped past that. I just don’t recall if it does or doesn’t ‼️
