Got the same engine. Trying to figure it out cause there is oil in my hull. Completely new to engines and boats. Trying to learn as I go. But have oil under the engine and under the cabin area in the hull under the inside floor. But I had some overheating, and 2 pops so shut it off. Area I believe it's called the "gaskets" where the oil goes had slight smoke coming out and it also looks like where the hoses go on each side the hoses was fine but the metal where the hoses connected didn't look completely attached. Opened where oil go and it was empty. I guess that's where all the oil in the hull came from. I also have no reverse I believe. Just bought boat a month ago and it's in the water at a slip and no trailer. So I don't know what the hell to do. Was told the boat to big for forklift. And I don't think I can make it to another marina. Also got a slight leak under boat on side with water leak been trying to seal it but nothing works the water just seats thru. But it takes a week for just a little to get in. Anyways, in a bit of a pickle.

How’d you drain the gas tank?

I'm assuming you put it in reverse and it went into neutral? That's the handle position. The gear on the controller needs rotated up one position (with the handle) then reposition the handle. Simple fix.

My boat currently won’t go over 25 changed the water fuel separator, fuel filter, just about everything have u heard anything about this problem with this motor? I have tried everything and can’t figure anything out

Hi Guys,I’m suspecting that there could be some of that shit in my 2017 Fx ho after changing the anode and seeing blocking in there similar to your one. Made numerous little tools to scrap it out and vacuumed. Got sand and corrosion, some felt like rock trying to scrape it out eventually breaking thru. Now I’ve seen some videos on flushing outboards with a trough and vinegar and dawn or soap circulating through their engines until the water gets hot. Stop it, let it soak till water cools a bit, run it some more. Everyone reports better water flow, heaps of crap coming out of the engine in bottom of trough, cooler temperatures and happy engines. You can see where I’m going. Can we set this up somehow for a jet ski. To avoid this problem. Prevention better than cure. Do it a lot at first then just occasionally. I did it on my outboard and can pull an anode out shine inside water jacket and it’s clean. A beautiful site to see. It’s 2009 Yamaha 4 stroke with 774 hours and it wasn’t clean when I got it. Its got new anodes now and it’s clean inside and that is peace of mind heading out to sea. Has anyone tried this yet somewhere in the world. Comments, suggestions,ideas. I’m wanting to do this really bad. Cheers.

My mechanic did this and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t start and wanted more money… I told him stop working on it and I’ll come get it… found the clamp at home and it started right up.

Can you run it in gear without a prop ? What should it sound then. I mean could you hear issues when out of water more easily ?

please people try the best you can to keep ethanol away from your 2 stroke engines , its hard i get it but ethanol is a natural attractant of water, thats why in Canada There WAS hundreds of people sued the gas companies an skidoo makers for not telling users as 2 strokes ethanol can an will absorb water from the atmosphere especially from a steel tank thats open!! an a side note I *NEVER TRUST OIL INJECTION SET UPS FOR 2 STROKES!* I BLOCK THEM OFF AN PREMIX THE GAS BEFORE I POUR IT IN THE TANK, seriously ALL IT TAKES IS A PLUGED UP LINE OR PLUGED OIL JET an you got a seized up engine with warped aluminum heads! either way cool bass boat!! ***P.S. if that model has the electric choke thats hooked up to the ignition an you need to push the key in an hold it to keep the choke engaged they go bad for no reason an will come on while your out doing speed runs trying to get the boat up on its pad for those bass tournaments! so check it out i think its bad solders an as you know the choke clicking on an off or even just for a millisecond will have it run like crap especially with bad solders as you pin the throttle an jolt the cable around it may cause it to foul an run like poop! . *gbyaa!!!!!!!!!*
