We have always loved the LA County Fair, as we are both born and raised Californians.
We can barely contain our excitement as we wander around 🎡
➡️ We finally get to bask in the sunlight with great music playing in the background while we get lured in by the delicious smells wafting towards us from the food stalls.

Where’s the monorail that they used to have or the Racetrack. And the Garxen center.
The fair was fun back in the late 50’s through the early 80’s
Wow that’s wild. Never knew there used to be a monorail or racetrack. Must’ve been nice
Online they only sell ride tickets in bundles of 40 or 80 only. Do you know if they have kiosks there where you can buy smaller amounts of tickets at a time (bc I remember there being something like that about 3 years ago)?
We didn’t see one unfortunately, it’s lame that they make us buy in that quantity 👎🏻
I thought that the LA county fair was during the summer.
It was, they moved it to May
So uhm as far as food goes Im a Irish / Italian and come from southern Georgia I definetly know how to cook . Thats seriously the only good aspect about this that I see . So for myself im out .

Yes agreed there. Prices have gone up when it’s already expensive 😔 seems like every food product was $18
@@Made2TripYea the going rate on food ten years ago was about $15.
Forty years ago we were all complaining about the prices then! People would say “sell your house to go to the fair.” Lol
The movie Sea Bisquit was filmed at the LA Fair Grounds race track.
It was a scene where the owners took Sea Bisquit to race at Caliente race Track in Tijuana. That track burned down in 1969.
When Del Mar racing season would end in late August. We’d have a one month break up here in LA with no racing. With the exception of harness racing at Los Alamitos.
When the fair would start up on or around October 4th. Then the fair racing would begin for a month. Even after the fair was over. Until Santa Anita would have their racing meet known as Oak Tree in late October.
It was fun and exciting to listen to Bill Garr on KIEV AM do the race recalls from the L.A County Fair.
@@handsomepackage7004 thank you for sharing, didn’t know that! Must’ve been nice. I hear ya on that. Things will always be expensive no matter what era lol. Houses are untouchable nowadays depending on what state you’re in 😣
@@Made2TripIn the 70’s and early 80’s. There was a Big Band radio station known as KGRB that broadcasted out of Covina. Every fair season the DJ’s would broadcast live out of one the exhibit buildings. Us listeners could hear the crowds in the back ground. It was cool to hear.

My handle Handsome Package was the name of a race horse in 1983-1984 that I used to bet on at Santa Anita. I had good luck with that horse.
