Gotta get some aileron into the wind on takeoff. That swept leading edge was directly into wind and lifted the left wing.

I built one here in Vancouver, but have yet to maiden it. I have the Freewing F 86 too, there's absolutely much improvements in this. I think FMS made the Freewing one for Motion RC couple of years ago. Nice job FMS

Thanx for another great video! I dont comment alot, because I usually watch videos on the tv. Ive been doing rc for many years, but new to flying. So, im a rookie for sure. Trying to learn.
One thing I see "everyone" do, that I dont is this timer countdown thing. I have voltage telemetry and my radio gives me a status every minute. temps and voltages. Gas planes I understand needs it.. but..
Looking forward to when CameraCrew is getting to fly.. Should think there is enough planes to choose from..

Knew ud be one of the firs😂t reviewers on this.. FMS love a bit of B.Philips! They obv been listening to your past complaints on other planes and had u in mind making this. Glad u love it.. iv been waiting foe a sabre and got sick of waiting on FW to re release thiers. This just popped up in my email 4 weeks ago Out of the blue! I got the blue one and its the most beuatiful detailed plane in my hanger. FMS upped the bar a notch with this one. Hope its a peak of more things to come 2024.
Hello about 1995, I saw this plane's fine performance, along with Jimmy Franklin and his performance at an airshow at the ex-Air Force bomber training field located between Odessa and Midland, Texas. The two movies associated with this plane are " The Hunters " (1958) and " Jet Pilot " (1957). I liked them.

As always excellent video Mr Phillips-your pilot skills are excellent and appreciate all the work and stress of going into these vids........one of my favorite prior EDF jets was the F-86 but it was way underpowered but even so the air presence and sounds made you feel like you were flying a real turbine. Again, appreciate all the hard work that goes into these videos which help us casual weekend RC pilots increase the odds of many successful flights.

This thing is awesome!! I seen it about a month ago on A Chinese guys video before it was released here and the more I see it the more I know I need to have this thing! Also On my bigger jets I usually do 2x on the AS3X gains. It seems to work better for the bigger planes with more weight on them.

Seen those air brakes take a few of these planes out. Part is operator error and those wing tanks dont do that plane any favors other than make it look pretty. Just more drag and weight which contribute to that thing stalling out with those air brakes on along with the flaps. Tons of drag, gotta keep that power up all the way to the ground, a lot of guys are used to just chopping the throttle the last few feet on final at thats when this thing stalls out and too late for go around most the time.
What no reversing speed control for braking? I just ordered an Eagle A3 Super 4 stabilizer to deal with frequent "surprise" winds at our club field. I fly small to medium scale EP models., some having 2 aileron servos for differential ailerons. I am not looking forward to learning stabilizer lore, but the 20 mile drives to the field won't be in vain, and cancelled flying days, won't be so frequent.
Freewing and FMS is taking over the RC hobby. I dont know what Horizon is doing any more, they do not have the planes that I want to buy anymore.
They're working on resolving some house keeping right at the moment, but we have been hearing they will be having some pretty awesome stuff soon. We'll share as soon as we're allowed ;)

Hi Brian I have a quick question for you when you put the prop back on you have a gap between the cowl and the blue circle spacer with the tabs on it ,on mine there is no gap is this correct or is there a spacer missing on mine ?

I was wondering why when you go around, you take the gear and flaps up?
I do it because not doing so would waste a ton of power. If you do a "dirty" go-around, you may need to take a whole go-around out of your power bank. Also, I want to get the plane flying as normal as possible, get to altitude, then get back into a final. Mostly, it's because I want to get the plane FLYING. If you keep into landing flaps, WITH BREAKS, and the large bulky nose gear door on this F-86, you might even get in trouble on the climb out, with the right wind conditions.

Hello again, Brian. I am waiting anxiously for this model to be back in stock. Am I correct in assuming that I can purchase this RC through your links? I will do so if it helps you out. Also, I really don't want to have to buy another expensive receiver (7+). I watched your video on mixing the flaps and airbrakes on a six channel AS3X. Unfortunately, the sun kinda blocked your screen and the setup was very fast. Maybe other viewers could benefit as well, but would you be willing to go through the setup for a six channel RX on a Spektrum TX? (NX10SE in my case at least) No airbrakes at all on take-off flaps. Airbrakes on landing flaps only. Thank you so much! Dale.

I would say, you want the extra channels for the BREAKS to be SEPARATE, if you want to copy my settings, which you CAN find (not glared) in the Unbox Build Radio Setup video (this was the Maiden Flight video, fyi)

You should do a review of the durafly v2 or g2 i don't remember exactly what it's called. It's like a heliplane, it's something different and a mixture of two worlds.

Would this be a beginner airplane? I am wanting to get into RC but know nothing about it. Money is not a concern, but i obviously dont want to lose thousands by crashing my first plane. What components would be needed with my first plane? Is it the remote controller, the batteries, and the plane itself?
This would be a terrible beginner plane. You will end in disaster unless you're very lucky. This plane would make you into an all-too-common statistic we like to call "One and done" meaning, someone who buys the wrong plane, tries and fails, and quits the hobby, never to return. We make it a part of our mission to help discourage this type of outcome, by encouraging people to start with something easier.
The good news, you can be flying this plane or something like in just a few short years of effort, if you stick to it. Also, don't hear that as a turn off, as you will LOVE the first few years of difficult enjoyment. It's HARD to do this skill, but you can do it, and there's never been a time in the history of the hobby that it's EASIER to learn how, and never been a lower time investment, getting from the chair to the air, than now. You can, and should DO IT ;)

The telemetry max voltage was input as 25.4, so the radio (knowing 6S max voltage is 25.2) assumed you had a 7S in there (do they even exist?).
I had it set to 20.4 VDC (3.4VDC per cell) not sure what you saw... Maybe the screen was terrible to see...which can be tough for us in the sun - sorry about that, btw!

I also would like to know in comparison to the BAE-Hawk 80mm, value dollars to dollars, is the Sabre or the hawk a better value?
Iv had mine 3 weeks 🇬🇧 so brian could've had this the same amount of time but not allowed to review till fms say.
We got it the package Wednesday, 11/22/2023 evening. We filmed our "Unbox, Build, Radio Setup" 11/22/2023 late, starting about 11:00 PM, into early morning hours of 11/23/2023 till about 1:30-1:45 AM, uploaded footage of the "Unbox, Build, Radio Setup" overnight. We then filmed our 2X "Maiden Flights" 11/23/2023, Thanksgiving morning. We uploaded them as we were leaving for family Thanksgiving lunch (and dinner hang out). When we got home, we processed the videos, made thumbnails before going to bed on Thanksgiving evening. It was ready to publish this morning, Thanksgiving / Thursday, 11/24/2023 at 10:00 AM.
This is the life we have lived for the majority of our BrianPhillipsRC days - and it sucks the life out of us (or anyone who actually does this stuff)
BAE Hawk 80mm is a FAVORITE plane of mine, but I need some time with this Sabre to see how much I love it in comparison ;)
@BrianPhillipsRC i struggle with a 499 selling price for an 80mm. Huge fan of Fms and A Lot of their edfs.. however i saw videos on this Sabre about a month or so ago....wasnt impressed with the Chinese reviews...

I've noticed you don't do many if any reviews on freewing aircraft. Not a fan??
We have tried for about 7.5 years to work with MotionRC and they refuse to partner up with us. I've even spoken to Wes, in a very positive way, but the brass doesn't think they need us, and I tend to think they're AFRAID of what we'll say.
We would LOVE to work with MotionRC to review Freewing.

Got mine on order should be here in the UK early December...one item I think they got wrong is the pilots head gear, seems wrong for the erra, I plan to replace mine with the freewing f86 pilot, as I feel it is a better look for this EDF, , small issue I know

1000000%, BUT to be fair, the wind had be playing it safe, and thus not bringing in the plane as slow as I could otherwise. I bet with calm conditions, she's gonna deliver some greasy, delicious, buttery smooth landings on the mains, and slowed down to a CREEP! I can't wait to try!!!!!
I am ready to pull the trigger on this model (through your link of course), but I am still torn between this one and the FW 80mm version. The one thing holding me back on the FW is it does not have lights (come on FW!). I can fly my EF 90mm Viper, FW L-39, EF 70mm Viper (new one) and my FW Avanti just fine (nothing like you, but I manage). Did you find anything about this model that would inspire someone to steer clear? I will follow your admonition and install an 8 channel Spektrum receiver. Thanks! Dale.
I don't see why not. Given the list of planes your are currently flying, this one should be just fine. I haven't flown the FW version, so can't speak to the differences, but this FMS option is absolutely fantastic. I personally can't wait for some better weather to get some more flights under my belt.

Hello Brian. I get it you cannot respond to all the questions pouring into you. I'm a smart guy and I understand the dynamics. One thing though, that I hope you are aware of. I asked a simple question on this FMS F86. I got a reply, but it appears to have been interloped by a troll or something along those lines. Most disconcerting. The reply I received was some sort of political agenda garbage. Makes me suspicious. Yea, 55 years as a military officer and big city police officer, I am inherently suspicious.
