I hope your know that we are working on bringing in an entire new defense. Our marking of your forwards was dreadful in the moments when we needed to be focused. Most of them defenders are to be sold either befoer the transfer deadline day window or next season.
We've just signed Van de Ven a young quick center back and we misted Romero, Royal and Undogie tonight who are decent defensively.
On a positive note our possession is getting better all the time with 70% possesion in our last three games before this one averaging 100 plus shots on goal for the three games. You could see our new goal keeper was furious whit our defense because there marking and positioning was terrible. Barca were very good to watch, especially going forward and I wish you well for the season hoping you'll beat RM to the title.

Thank you! Ange Postocoglou has only had these players for about a month, and he's completely transformed them. We are rebuilding right now, as a good few players have to be sold to make way for new signings. We played some amazing football last night, kind of like what we played under Poch but the passing and movement wash more technical. I'm glad that no players got injured on our side, I see one of your players got a knock, so I hope he's alright. Anyway, I wish Barcelona well for the season and hope the club can lift the title once more. Barcelona are always great to watch and on that note, have a nice day.

regardless of the result, i'm actually very proud of this team. rather than just sitting back, we actually pinned them back for majority of the first half and half of the second half. our players obviously were tired while barcelona could bring on first team subs. but one thing that's consistent is that dier was awful. reguilon doesn't know how to defend. my concern is if either romero or vdv gets injured, dier will play. dier needs to be sold as soon as possible

Royal is a much better defender now that he's settled in and Romero will partner with the new signing Van de Ven and Undogie looks brillion at LB. We had a lot of possesion tonight even though we put out our 2nd string side so that's a positive. But another positive as this game highlighted just how bad Eric, Dier, Regulon and porro are as defenders.

Bissouma arrogance on the ball is what the Spurs needed and definitely must have shocked Conte to see a player express himself on the ball.
Arsenal fan here but I was amazed at how Ange has transformed the team. They seem to have an easy facility with ball progression; you definitely take chances but with proper defenders it works. They will needed to fatten up the squad if they are going to press up high given the demands of the premier lg.
Lastly, Yamal has that football intelligence that's rare in a gem. He dribbles with his head up and he's really easy to integrate in a team because he doesn't unbalance the team cohesion.

Thanks mate, but our defense was shocking, most of these defenders on display are to be sold soon. We're having a rebuild so it's going to be painful for a while. If we defend like this in the Premier League we'll be handed our ass on a plate. Was happy with our possession though as we average about 70% possesion with over 100 shots on goal in our last three games before tonight. We badly missed Romero, Royal, VDV and Undogie tonight and we need another couple of quality defenders.
Our new keepers was furious with our defenders not marking properly tonight so I felt sorry for him a bit but he made some very good saves.

I'm always amazed how YT commenters go straight for the negative. Be grateful for the improvements Ange has driven in such a short period of time. That should be the main focus after this game and possibly even some excitement for the year ahead. My sense is that (pending Kane's outcome) most of what is needed in the squad is already here as you can see Ange already improving the whole squad.
I feel like Sanchez can be a good defender. Last season wasnt a good one for him, but i think he was out of confidence. I remember he had a stat of like 450 minutes or so with him being on the pitch for spurs without conceding, you dont do that if you are a bad defender. Get his confidence up and a good partnership and he will be sorted.

Dier still cant play defense. so poor. never tracks, just drops one knee as a half block. hopefully he will be on bench this season or move him on

Dier is like an enemy sent in to destory our defense by acting as a lighthouse for the opposition forwards. Regulon is terrible, the marking was awful from what I saw in the highlights. These defenders can't read their opponents and the anticiapation was only existent with Sanchez who snuffed out a few attacks. I agree, I['d rather keep him with his speed than Dier. Vicareo was furious witih the marking and he's blew up in a few games this preseason already on Davis and Dier. We need another proper CB and not Clement Longle.
