- Goa now has two airports. One is Dabolim Airport, and the other is Mopa Airport. Goa is the first small state to have two airports. Since Dabolim is also a naval airport, it often became busy for civilian flights, and the fares were expensive. However, Mopa Airport is a fully civilian airport and can handle twice as many flights as Dabolim. Within 11 months of its opening, 3 million passengers had already used this airport. Domestic flights operate to 25 destinations, and there are also flights to 4 international airports from here. The BJP government often pats itself on the back for this achievement, but today I will acquaint you with the story behind this airport. The locals of Goa will be become foreigners in their own land just like the local fishermen population of Mumbai is now the literal outsider. DO NOT sell your lands for money, and then cry later about being ignored by the government.

The current scenario in Goa is troubling; it is overwhelmed with corrupt politicians and government officials. Many illegal activities, including bribery for work accomplishment, are rampant. Goa urgently needs a team of qualified individuals to reform its administration. Issues such as illegal land acquisition, improper garbage disposal, and inadequate infrastructure persist. Employment opportunities do not prioritize merit, disadvantaging locals even though Goa thrives as a tourism state. It is disheartening that even panchayats, meant to support villages, are embroiled in significant scams. Development funds are often siphoned off by officials instead of being used for their intended purposes. While road infrastructure shows improvement, many other aspects in Goa are severely lacking. Furthermore, our cherished Mhadei River faces imminent danger, exacerbated by unresolved disputes over its diversion.
Diversion of Mhadei river will be disastrous for Goa.

What Mr Amit Palekar said. We are destroying nature. Ask him if he has not helped MVR to advocate a land of poor people in Sodiem, Siolim. Go and see the massive destruction of nature. A family who was taking care of that land for the last 3 decades has been denied any rights on that land. The advocate who was defending the case also happened to be a friend of Mr. Palekar. How will the locals survive? So many cashew trees have been destroyed. And big big bungalows have come to that place, which are owned mostly by North Indians. And this fellow is a AAP leader who is helping to bring all the outsiders. They have destroyed the beauty of that small little place.
