You are driving the best truck ever built best engine last longest without rust all newer trucks dont even compare and the last year for that body then ford kept good powertrain crap body
When using the jumper cables: Positive terminal running vehicle to the positive terminal on the non-runner, but negative lead goes from negative battery terminal runner vehicle to chassis or some beefy bolt of a non-runner vehicle, NOT to the negative terminal of the non-runner. Common mistake. The way you had it hooked up (both times) you were wasting a lot of energy charging the dead battery.
Even though I am a GM Guy, I still think that Ford makes decent trucks but I think GM is by far the best and if I was to choose between GM and Ford, I mostly would choose GM
They took the Taxpayer Bailout as Chrysler did, Ford didn't want a Government Motors Bailout. They were supposed to pay it back, but Obama let them slide.
The F350 and it's GM counterparts were far better heavy duty/farm trucks prior to 2000 than those that have followed from those companies. In fact, in my opinion at least based on farm experience, the heavier duty Fords were by far the better trucks when compared to their GM competitors which all seemed to lack that "grunt factor" that the Fords had. Until RAM trucks hit the sweet spot of heavy duty use in about 2008 or so Ford was the go to brand for serious farming and construction work in our area while GM heavy duty trucks became "pretty trucks" for towing light to mid-weight camper trailers and similar loads on an as needed once and awhile level. That all it took was a battery to get that older F350 started after at least a year of inactivity came as no surprise to this old country boy as I've seen trucks of that era and older take daily, real world, work abuse that were relegated by their owners to "spare" or "retired" status and parked outdoors for that long and even longer that cranked and started with nothing but a new battery or batteries installed or a jump from a farm tractor....And then used to tow a broken 2000 or later model back to the barn and often as not pull the trailer on which the newer truck road to a local mechanic or dealership for repair or even trade in.

Great video though , it's nice scenery some good experiences for you all
Haha yea, and especially needed in new england snow. I could never do my everyday routines with a 2wd truck
You don't need 4x4, you need good tires and to know how to drive. 4x4 gets you twice as stuck, twice as quick. I have taken one tire fire trucks in crap knee deep with decent tires and the knowledge that momentum makes a difference.

Whatever you say Sir , you got this
Ford is the way to go the only trucks I will buy
Damn shame it is going back into storage . I currently have 311,000 miles on my 97 F350 , 7.3.
The adventure continues!
My first truck was an obs ford and no other trucks can measure up to them... just like your first love, you judge everyone after that to them... im going to be picking up an obs ford right after christmas... my brother thinks i should make it a race truck but i got something better in mind
zip ties and bias plies: *heavy breathing*
He'd send it right into the ketchup
It's not rotted out with a bunch of random shit welded to it. It's too nice for Peg's facility.

Yep.
He'd have to sink it in a bog for a few years to "cure" before he went to town on it.
Nice Ford. Just never was a fan of those first Powerstokes. Hated those electric accelerators..... 500 RPM straight to 1500!!!!! Fun hooking up to trailers or in mud. The front "light bar" is some what rare dealer install.
BTW same here GM guy, but did have a 90 &92 Ford's. Both 7.3 with 5 speeds. And now have a 2010 Crown Vic. Everyone needs to have at least one Crown Vic!!!!
I've got a 92 model f 350 crew cab I love
I have one of those and it’s a great truck.
You look good driving a Ford!!! That's all I've ever owned....my father worked for Ford for thirty years!!! Wouldn't drive anything else.
What a loyal old girl
You gotta let that thing charge and charge with that little baby car a much bigger set of jumper cables also helps a lot
She is a beauty
It'd be better if it was the manual transmission. Those have a weak torque converter. You can swap them with the same torque converter out if a C-6 and that helps a lot. Those are awesome motors and are great torque monsters for their time. Definitely miss that sound
GM Guy myself but that one I would make a exception
Lmao I just saw the trump sign in 6:21
its goated
If its a two battery truck, and they want to get it back running again, both batteries need changed at the same time if not one will drain the other
am I wrong here or...wouldn't one of you revving the engine of the running car help charge the dead batteries?
Kinda... But alternators are generally always putting put around 14 volts no matter the rpm
The best jump start rigs for these are other 7.3ls with dual batteries
I could tell you weren't in Vermont...no rust on that Ford. The only thing it needs to be perfect is a manual transmission.
Not much of a ford guy. But man that thing is beautiful.
I'm wondering how much that is right now it looks nice
7.3s are the best lol iv seen 7.3s that have sat for 7+years start and run like they never even sat
7:17 random British moment.exe successfully loaded
Even though I am a GM Guy, I still think that Ford makes decent trucks but I think GM is by far the best and if I was to choose between GM and Ford, I mostly would choose GM
They took the Taxpayer Bailout as Chrysler did, Ford didn't want a Government Motors Bailout. They were supposed to pay it back, but Obama let them slide.
They made 7 for hauling not hauling ass. We had one on the farm couldn’t kill that engine.
Job well done !
The real question is... will it blend?
