    Hello. I’m interested in this kit. I have a 2006 ultra classic. I think the fairing speakers are 5 1/4. Will the speakers in this kit fit?

    • @rockfordfosgate

      Yes, the TMS6SG speakers include an integral adaptor and speaker grille. Literally pull out the factory ones and drop in the new ones. You can see more detail on the speakers here: rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/tms6sg/

    hi.I currently have a 2008 electra glide ultra classic CVO screamin eagle. it has some sort of amplification for the back spkrs already I belive, will this unit bypass that or work in conjunction with existing wires and harness?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před rokem

      Hi Patrick, unfortunately due to the inconsistency of HD wiring harnesses, we don't show any compatibility on 1998-2013 CVO amplified systems.

    I noticed that you used a Y adapter for the Tour Pak and Bag Lid Speakers. Stage 3 is a wonderful setup and I'm looking to purchase this very shortly. I want to know if you can run the same Y Adapter for the front speakers as I'm looking to run the speakers in the Bat Wing and in the Lower Fairing. So instead of a 6 speaker system, it will be an 8 Speaker System. Is this an option I can do or will I need to run an additional Power Amp for the Lower Fairing Speakers? Thanks in advance...

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, Terry, you can! The TM400X4ad amplifier is designed to run up to an 8-speaker system (4x 4-ohm speakers front / 4x 4-ohm speakers rear). The kit comes with 2 Y-adaptors, 1 for the front channels and 1 for the rear channels.

      Hi Albert, to confirm, you're looking for the amplifier installation kit for this video (1998-2013 model year Electra Glide) for the Stage 3 audio kit, right? It's the RFK-HD9813. That amp installation kit can be found at: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/rfk-hd9813/

    Do you have a video on the 1997 ultra classic?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 10 měsíci

      Unfortunately no, our kits are recommended for model years 1998-2013, so if the video is applicable to your motorcycle, then it should work. The biggest compatibility issue is using factory plastic Harley-Davidson hard shell bags. The speaker line electrical should work because you’re just looking for high level outputs from the radio.

  • @strangebrewkungfu5188

    I currently own a 2011 street glide. I have added a complete stage 3 up grade to my street glide (Fairing, Lower Fairing, Saddle Bag Lids, amp, and stereo). I have decided to add a tour pak with OEM speaker pods and RF Speakers to my bike. In this video I see the OEM speaker pods are being utilized. I wanted to know if the volume controls on the tour pak speaker pod are functional?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před rokem

      The included wiring harness used to add TourPak speakers bypasses the factory wiring, so volume control is done directly from the source unit.

  • @WheelzTV
    @WheelzTV Před 3 lety

    I don't have the tourpak speaker holders, but I'm going to get them... which means I'm guessing I don't have any wires running back there yet. What do I do with my wire connections at the 9 minute mark in your video if my wires aren't there to connect to?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 3 lety

      Great question Tyson, the rear speaker connection at 9:00 is grabbing [speaker line] audio signal from the TourPak (REAR speakers) to feed into the amplifier input. If you don't have rear speakers in a TourPak yet, just individually tape these off for now. You will need to change the amplifier INPUT SWITCH to 2-CH input. This allows the front inputs to run all 4 outputs of the amplifier, and giving your baglids audio signal. Please note, you will not have front/rear fade capability.

    Great Video! I have a 2009 FLHTCU. Has the "problem" with Harmon Kardon cutting out, and I'd like to replace it with an aftermarket system that actually works on a ride, and keeps all the OEM functionality (weather radio, CB, thumb controls). Am I looking at the right unit here?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 4 lety

      Hi Robert, Yes the HD9813SGU-STAGE3 is the correct kit for your FLHTCU (verified in compatibility chart). Thanks for looking at Rockford Fosgate to rock your ride! This is a high performance audio system with a full marine grade quality radio. The radio retains the thumb control, has a Weather Band, but unfortunately does not support any intercom system if factory equipped. I see this video is a few years old but is there any way to keep water from running past the speaker into the bag. I didn't see any water barrier in place after the bag speaker install.

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Jethro, there is a 3-part gasket seal as follows:
      1) Between the grille and the lid
      2) Between the lid and the underside bezel
      3) Between the 6x9" and the underside bezel
      Unless the baglid was cut too wide, everything should be sealed and should not leak water into the bag. If your 6x9" speakers are leaking through the tweeter, we will warranty them for you. However, be aware we're currently on back-order on the TMS69 speakers.

      For motorcycle applications? The PBR400X4D is a great amplifier and provides great performance. However, inside the fairing, we recommend the Power TM400X4ad amplifier since it's dual fan-cooled, so you'll never have any issues with potential over-heating:

    Beware if you have a 1998 - 2004 FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic with CB/Intercom/Passenger Control (in small print it says this stereo will not work with this bike actually haven't found any one that does make one) you will need to make up a harness (23 pin Female to 35 pin male) and No, no one makes one. Thought I could at least make it a little simpler by ordering a HD9813 but can't order it on line and when I called sales well let's just say it was less then helpful. So off to the internet and I've order pieces to build my own one way or another at least I have 5 months to figure it out :D . Sorry Rockford Fosgate but after using your amp and speakers you let me down on head unit hook up. #Rockfordfosgate #Electraglideultraclassic
