@@chestercarter6081 Wow. OU history...multiple Heisman winners and runners up who are
Sooners. Stoops used to be criticized for putting up over 50 on opponents although he often pulled starters at the start of the 2nd half. The issue for the Sooners has been defense since BV left to go to Clemson. The D often looked confused. Sooner fans have learned the first 15-20 offense plays were not scripted and the D did not have situations mapped out--no wonder they were late on calls and looked familiar.
The 4 defense players who opted out accounted for 70% of defense production. We did not have a top edge rusher in the Alamo Bowl, but the OU D TACKLED and made the qb uncomfortable. It was good to see young people tackling. There were whiffs...mostly against a freshman.
Lebby has his OU background and almost ALL of the OU offensive coaches back. He has added the Briles plays and led one of the most explosive offenses in the SEC. The OU online has been a mess this year....it was good to see them playing solidly last night. Scuttlebutt on OU pods and message boards is that LR's style worked against Coach B's style.
Time will tell, but I cannot imagine as many poor games next year as we had this year. BV will not have a foot out the door.

@@Kameraspie With Lebby yes, he's been top 5 in the country for the past several years in the SEC. Lincoln is innovative as an offensive coach but he's slowly but surely been figured out. His numbers weren't on par with Lebby this year and have been slipping since 2017. We'll be fine in the long run. Short run may be up hill but that'll sort itself out, not to mention that a good defense makes your offense look so much better than it is. I.e. Georgia

Colin, you might want to wait for Riley to actually do something other than get knocked out of the CFP first... I mean yeah, USC can legitimately pay students now so I'm sure USC will rise to prominence again but don't start counting the national titles until you have a least, I don't know, 1 playoff win?

I like Klatt but saying the rose bowl is bigger than anything other than the super bowl is laughably dumb. If it's not a playoff game it makes nothing. Olave played in the playoffs last year. Any NFL playoff game would be bigger than playing Utah and there is no reason for him to risk any money for a pointless game.
