    It would be cool if they made another case that combines the UPS and M.2 SATA hats - that would work nicely for a tiny home server.

      I've been looking for a case solution for a UPS under the pi (Pisugar 3 Pro), Ice Tower on top & an M.2 somewhere in the case. That really is the holy grail of Pi4 cases in my opinion. Unfortunately it just doesn't exist so I'm stuck with the diy cardboard box case I made.

    The US Micro Center stores have just had loads of Pi4 4Gb delivered and sold almost straight away and at the RRP, I haven't seen any UK vendors getting the same stock, some US commenters on other YT sites are claiming the dearth is over (after one delivery)

    That's a very nice little case! I'm still quite happy with my ArgonOne M.2 case; but if I didn't have it, this one would be tempting, especially for a 'server'.

    0:53 yes, it's a pitty that the cyan case didn't have metal threads for the screws; if you design your own case (for 3D printing) you always put holes to accept the metal threads; it's even easy to install them using heat (although PLA melt faster than ABS) by pressing them down the hole.
    But for applications that doesn't require too much strength and even better, not much assembly/dissasembly, you can get away with a screw directly into the plastic hole.

    Those OLED demos are from the luma project (luma.oled, luma.lcd, etc.), a nice set of libraries for running small displays with pure python. The "Space Invaders" demo is playable with some minor changes to its code.

    Assembly blunders admission and recovery quite helpful. Inclusion of GPIO Pin Adapter? Did you forget to install it, or am I making assumption. Speed Test remarkable, definitely the SSD advantage wins 5 starts.
    Sad I am, an upgrade with both UPS and SSD Daughter Board not produced.
    Sad as well for a lack of a Safe Power Off button and relocated external SD card slot. That gaping SD access hole in the end panel, less than sharp appearance.
    Very helpful your pointing out 52Pi Wiki.

    It always looks easy online. You did a great job of the assembly. I will check back to you older one to see if there are any tips on the scripting etc. I have had some annoying things happen with mine. I get a Starburst effect with the Led's vs a Rainbow, I can get the oled to show when I do a direct Python3 go at the .py files but the loaded scripting that is suppose to be installed at startup seems to no like my unit. I used a different user name, but changed permissions in the install scrip and gpio access. Am dealing with tech support at this time and just tinkering. All and All a great unit, love the built in m.2, and as one of your patrons mentioned, the ups unit and this is a great server......may have to set up an external one! THX

      @iam.jasonhoward Před 2 lety +1

      These tiny OLEDs are very common and inexpensive. As a status display, it’s fine. Beyond that you would have to upscale the case to accommodate a larger display. Which is totally doable if you you’re into diy and 3d printing 😁.

      @@leepspvideo Price is rather good as it comes with a bt keyboard and a fan.
      The feel is nice and quality and fit was very good. It's missing documentation but eventually figured it out especially fan connection. Only issues are there could have been better drive solutions and not easy access to gpio pins.
      But it looks and feel quality.

    Hello Lee, are you aware of any PoE hats that fit with the 52pi cases? Or do you have experience building your own "´Frankenstein" version? Would love to see a video on it if you have the parts? I am doing lots of searches but can't find anything. I was wondering if the Waveshare PoE hat without the fan would squeeze in the case somewhere and use GPIO jumper cables to extend to the appropriate points? What do you think? It's my first Pi project and I'm aiming to build a server with PiHole, VPN, NGINX for a basic website all in Docker containers. I have the 52pi Tower case to put everything in but PoE would be great. Best wishes.
