I've been studying German 10-12 years and am at C1, according to schools. I think this is one of the most useful videos I've come across. It's a little beginner/intermediate, but it's a fine review. ja! that and how the words have more than one meaning and the sentences are flipped around. makes it hard for me to formulate proper sentences. Germans can understand my pseudo-sentences but to them they are reversed. My brain just doesn't work in reverse like that I don't get how anyone gets past that

I found it also helps that if you're a beginner, you can set the playback speed to 0.75 instead of 1.0 (Normal speed) on the bottom right of the video using the gear icon.

I'm now in German B1 and I'm almost finished with the course. I felt I needed to hear a lot more B1 level spoken German so I searched for conversational German - at my level - and found this video. Wow. I have to say this video is very, very helpful! It's perfect for B1 level German. A little bit ahead of where I'm actually at in terms of fluidity of speaking; but that's a really good thing. Perhaps this is too much for an actual beginner due to the beginner's limited vocabulary and limited listening comprehension. However I'd recommend it for anyone who is at the B1 level. Wow, this is extremely helpful. I'm pretty intermediate in German, and have been for years, but I don't use it much. Turns out I really can understand a pretty good bit of these conversations, with only having to go back because they speak at a native speed, and I might not catch all the words at first. Als Deutscher bin ich überrascht, wie viele Menschen aus aller Welt auf einmal Deutsch lernen. Mir sagten ein paar Leute, dass ihnen während des Corona-Stillstands so langweilig war, dass sie begonnen haben im Internet Deutsch zu lernen. Jetzt, wo sich die Coronapendemie dem Ende zuneigt, haben sie aber Spaß daran bekommen, sich Deutsch anzueignen und wollen autodidaktisch weitermachen. Aktuell sehen die Zahlen so aus, dass etwa 100 Millionen Menschen Deutsch als Muttersprache beherrschen und weitere 100 Millionen Menschen Deutsch mindestens auf dem Niveau B1 beherrschen, d.h. weltweit beherrschen etwa 200 Millionen Menschen Deutsch.
Da innerhalb Europas Deutsch am häufigsten gesprochen wird und Deutschland als Wirtschaftsmotor der EU gilt, wollen viele Deutschlerner zudem ihre berufliche Qualifikation verbessern.

@@marwaderfoufi5059 Die Leute haben mich nur privat angesprochen, weil sie ihre Deutschkenntnisse verbessern wollen. Gelegentlich schreibe ich dann E-Mails oder telefoniere auch. Sie bitten mich dann die von ihnen verfassten Deutschsätze zu korrigieren. In deinem Fall würde ich den von dir verfassten Satz "Kennen sie ein deutschegruppe zum sprechen?" berichtigen und erläutere dann, dass man im Deutschen entweder "Kennen Sie eine deutsche Gruppe zum Sprechen?" oder "Kennen Sie eine Deutschgruppe zum Sprechen?" schreibt. Der Unterschied liegt darin, dass mit Deutschgruppe gemeint ist, dass diese Gruppe deutsch spricht oder lernt. Wenn man aber schreibt deutsche Gruppe, dann bedeutet dies, dass gemeint ist, dass die Gruppe aus Deutschen besteht. Solche Feinheiten wollen die Leute erklärt haben. Das ist aber in meinem Fall keine offizielle Gruppe, sondern sind letztendlich zwanglose Gespräche ohne Lehrplan von Einzelpersonen, die ihre Deutschkenntnisse ausbauen wollen und die Feinheiten des Deutschen, das auf Präzisierung ausgelegt ist, verstehen wollen.
Jemand, der Deutsch lernt, hat mich beispielsweise gefragt, er versteht nicht, was ein Baum im Gesicht sei. Ich las mir den Text "Der Ast der Kiefer" durch und erklärte ihm, dass in diesem Fall "der Kiefer" im Genitiv steht und somit eine Baumart gemeint ist. Nur dann, wenn "Der Kiefer" im Nominativ steht, ist der Teil des Gesichts gemeint. Da es aber im Englischen keinen Genitiv gibt, musste er dies explizit lernen. Eine Frau machte eine Sprachübung, in der der Satz "Ich werde das Verkehrsschild umfahren." stand. Sie fragte mich, ob dann das Verkehrsschild abknickt. Ich sagte ihr, dass das auf die Betonung ankommt. Wenn man sagt, ich werde das Verkehrsschild UMfahren, dann fährt man über das Verkehrsschild, das dann abknickt und zu Boden fällt. Fährt man jedoch außen um das Verkehrsschild herum, sodass es unbeschädigt bleibt, dann betont man "Ich werde das Verkehrsschild umFAHren".
Was ich immer wieder feststelle, dass viele Deutschlerner sich zunächst sehr darüber ärgern, dass die Grammatik des Deutschen sehr viel schwerer ist, als diejenige des Englischen. Wenn sie aber mehrere Jahre lang intensiv Deutsch lernen und immer besser die Feinheiten der Sprache verstehen, dann bekommen sie später immer mehr Spaß und vielen macht es dann sehr viel Freude dann selbst mit der Sprache zu "spielen" und die zahlreichen Möglichkeiten, die Deutsch bietet, zu nutzen. Die Germanistiker sagen dazu "voll ausgebaute Standardsprache."

German-to-english is interpreted. You may appreciate a change in the order of words, but in order to mentally translate properly, you'd probably want to hear the grammatical translation as well to speak it properly. Some, though admittedly few phrases have combined meanings. The verb ordering in comparison to English is generally different in German.

Your not supposed to know what it says in English the first time around because then your brain won't store it in long term memory. Thats why when people take language courses they dont remember anything as soon as the walk out the door. It may seem like you won't know what there talking about but once you read it the second time with the English caption your supposed to go back and listen again without the English caption. This will store the information in long term memory and you will keep it stored forever and not just to pass a test. This is how I taught foreign languages to other people and this is how "Living Language" tells you to process the information.
