@@claytonparsons4963 There were no harsh vocals on The Crusade, which was the album they were touring for. It was the "Matt Hetfield" era of singing. It also tore his vocal chords apart so he had to sing the next album in a completely different way to be able to continue singing.

And who couldn't remember all the plethora of hate videos directed against modern bands with Trivium being one of those who took the brunt of the diss (e.g. the guy who made the Boat Rudder Strange Mountain meme) while also being made fun of by one of the bands they looked up to.

I prefer this raspy voice a thousand times over his current clean voice. I know it's to preserve his throat and such, but to me it sounds sooo bad.
@@Carascoroscovaldo I mean, honestly no, I don't prefer this one over his current one, cause this one just didn't sound good, however I will say I feel like his new one completely lacks any kind of grit, which is a shame, he does use the "bad" method for album recordings.
@@KytexEdits Huh?! But that's what Trivium sounds like. It's a good thing that on the last album of 2021 he sang like that again, because I couldn't stand listening to the songs where he used a completely clean vocal before this one and the one in 2020.

@@mr.sidecomments9278 Of course not! Either you didn't listen to the albums properly, or you didn't understand my comment. In SinS you can notice that in most of the songs the verses are composed with an extremely clean and melodic vocal, it didn't sound like a scratchy melodic clean vocal like James Hetfield that he used to do on previous albums.

Recuerdo cuando vi este video por primera vez, yo acababa de descubrir Trivium, y me encantó (2007).. entré a buscarlos para ver como tocaban en vivo y me encontré esta mierda Matt cantando tan horrible 🤣🤣🤣 me sentía tan decepcionado.. tiempo después salió Shogun, me encantó pero decía "esto no es real, Matt no grita así".. salió el video de Down From the Sky live en Japón y me enamoré para siempre..

Not sure what you're referring to about Matt today, but I find him to be a little more full of himself in this particular era. Switching from 2000's pop-punk clothes to 80's thrash fashion and pointy guitars along with trying so hard to sound and act like Hetfield just reeks of the "screw you for labelling us metalcore! We're real metal!" energy. At least from 2009 and onwards, you can tell he doesn't care about trying so hard to appeal to the metal elitist idiots.
