I am rewatching this to try to figure out how to make my new stuff work.
Nice and clean FPV setup :)
Happy weekend
Thanks. You too!
this was extremely useful, great vid!
Theo Christie glad to be of service!
Good video man!
Brilliant and very informative video.
Appreciate it
Nice job, very informative.
Thanks. Hope this helps!
+JohnVH541 It helped me!
excellent stuff
Thanks!
Insanely helpfull
Im glad!
Only video I found that explains it so simple even a complete newbie to electronics like me couldnt fuck it up xD one question tho, if I wanted to run just the camera with nothing else, would I just skip the vtx and plug the wires from the camera straight into the balance? Or do you need the vtx for something? Just not sure if that would be safe so thought I'd ask before trying it. I want to use it for a small action camera sometimes when its not on a drone, so I dont need the flight controllers and all that, just the camera to record.
How is your video quality when you use the balance lead while powering the aircraft with the other connection?
I recently tried this but I found that under medium-full throttle my video would cut out. I tried using a different battery for each and it seems fine now.
I wonder if it has to do with the 3v port on the balance connector? I accidentally used the 12v port and fried something.. the max for the cam is 5v so I don't want to try again on the 7v port
Ive done FPV systems like this for years, never had a problem, maybe you had a bad battery?
Can u plz tell me the name of the balanced wire connector for powering up the fpvcam/ transmitter
Hmm. Not sure. I think they are a JST of some sort. Just look for a balance plug for your size of battery
Stupid question, but that lipo balance connector that you pulled the wires from, is that a female end then?
Yep
Lol one more thing if I may, this TX here:
www.banggood.com/Eachine-TX801-5_8G-72CH-0_01MW5MW25MW50MW100MW200MW400MW600MW-Switched-AV-VTX-FPV-Transmitter-p-1147691.html?rmmds=search
It does not have the 2 black wires as yours does. What would I do with this? And thank you for the help!
Almost looks as if the one I linked is easier to wire? I think it just plugs into cam and then your left with a red and black to add power. I am noob and getting my first system going, so just making sure I know what i'm doing before I order. :)
It all depends on how much voltage the VTX and camera can take, and if the VTX puts out camera power that will work with your camera. Theres a million ways to do everything. In this video the VTX does not put out enough power for my camera.
balance ports ? (1:46) what are they ?
The white plug that comes off the battery with a bunch of small wires going to it
I'm quite new to FPV and looking into this camera: hobbyking.com/en_us/quanum-fpvme-camera-clover-antenna.html Quanum FPVMe HD Mini Camera w/40CH 5.8GHz 25~200mW VTX (Clover Antenna) for my aircraft, but I can't quite figure out how to connect this to a battery, as it has its video transmitter built in. Can you point m in the right direction?
Looks like you just plug it into your receiver. Neat camera!
