Well, I agree he is among the best... probably the second best ever if you discount the situations he bats in, but Sir Donald Bradman is the best, then Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Viv Richards, Steven Smith, Virat Kohli, Jacques Kallis, Sehwag(he might not have the stats again but he was the scariest batsman to face in tests), Rahul Dravid come into the test picture, I'm obviously missing some of the earlier names since I was born later, in one days, it's only Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Sangakarra, Jayasuriya (same applies to him in one days as to Sehwag in tests), Sir Viv, etc...so it's difficult to choose a best but he is up there in my opinion with these fellows...sorry for leaving out the earlier players but since I haven't watched them enough, it wasn't my place to comment on them
