I like her story of her meeting her partner. I recently met a guy who practices and I’m curious to learn about him and this religion.
I think we will see a rise in children of Olokun bc we need them. IMO, They will open the floodgates to the subconscious healing that needs to take place here in this realm.
Just got my hand of Ifa and it was confirmed that Olokun is my guardian Orisha. Feeling called to hunt for more information because I don’t meet too many children of Olokun. This energy has been super powerful and also overwhelming. My God parents are amazing but in need of specifics around Olokun. As I am the only one in my Ile. Would love suggestions on where to find more.

Iburu I am a person who is half cuban and of cuban Lucumi spiritual lineage. I ask you JosephBabaIFA, how do feel about these direct crownings that are becoming popular here in the U.S.? I will admit i am weary because it is not traditional Lucumi houses that are doing it. But Isheshe houses, newly established by those who have taken trips to Nigeria. How do we know these new practices from the new Iles are legit and are not out here hurting people, or cheating people. How are these Olorishas being vetted? How do we trust that the person is truly crowned? For example, the manner in which a person of 21 divisiones recieves their saint is not as intricate as in the Lucumi tradition. So again I ask what are the lenghts we are taking as a community to make sure the new crownings of Olokun, Oduddua, Orisha Oko, Agayu etc..are legitimate? Sorry for the long question. Iburu

How do you know that you are seeing Olokun in your dreams. I see white horses, people in white garments give me messages, i see water bodies, i see snakes. I even had the Ooni of Ife come to give me instructions on how to keep death away from my Mom.
Im a Pisces. I have a super masculine energy and i gravitate towards Olokun. Things of white, never felt drawn to any Osun or the other female deities.

Hello. Shango is the Orisha that resides over my head. I am initiated. I have my warriors Elegua, Ogun, and Osun. I also have elekes. 5 which represent Obatala, Oshun, Elegua, Shango, and Yemeya. I was initiated by an Oba. As a child of Shango what are some cleanses that I can do on my own? What are some absolutely no no's as a child of Shango?

Whoever marked her head as Olokun has done her a disservice. In the Cuban system of Ifa if no orisha claims the head OBATALA WILL….. ALWAYS.
Olokun has been marked and crowned as a guardian orisha since Ifa’s arrival in Cuba
Ifa poderes are not orisha to be crowned in ocha

She is ISESE Traditional and we always crown Olukun directly on the head didn'y you hear her say she went to Africa .What applys in Lukumi doesn't necessarily apply in ISESE THE PARENT PRACTICE ! IE WE can become an Egungun priesy devoid of the KONGO practice of Palo it's not been lost for us !!!
