And the thing I enjoy most are his interviews with people just blows me away he’s so incredibly happy I’m glad for him bc he about lost his family
I've been a Numan fan since 1979 and I understand that he had his 'wilderness years', but I've seen him four times in the last few years and his enthusiasm has not dwindled and I would even say he seems to be enjoying himself. Although Strange Charm may not be a memorable album (I Can't Stop is ok too) I think that My Breathing is one of his best songs and in the true style of Numan.

I still recall ripping open my copy of Strange Charm and being blown away by this. In retrospect I wish Gary would have tried a few more things in this vein instead of the several year detour he took in to trying to get back on the charts. Now that I think about it, does Gary play anything from Berserker, Fury, or Strange Charm (besides this one of course) in his live shows. I've only seen a few shows, and I don't recall anything from that era being touched on.
I used to like his music in the 1970s when I was a teenager. I stopped listening after a few years and became interested in other bands. I'm glad that he has had a revival and that he can tour and make money. I don't like the music he makes now, but I think it has a quality which would appeal to many people. Goon on him.
My point about lipsync is that you can perform live with midi and backing tapes. I think it gets lost when written down. Gary had taken a fair bit of flack for miming when he clearly isnt. After all, he makes new lyrics up to We are Glass everytime he plays it.
Me too, I often like to emulate this by getting drunk and writhing around on the floor of my glasshouse. You can come along and press your nose to the glass and if I like what I see I'll maybe invite you in.

@hellchild65 certainly not - Metal Rhythm is actually generally well regarded by fans and Numan wrote in his Praying to the Aliens autobiography that he felt it was one of his best albums. Machine + Soul was the "joke" album.
