Some clarification, Beyoncé doesn’t own this particular song it belongs to the song writer pianist Toby Gab.
BC Jean, the co-writer of the song was the first one to sing this song, then Beyonce recorded it. Now Angelina is singing it at the invitation of the other co-writer, Toby Gad, the piano player in this video. It's AJs song now.
Toby Gad co-wrote this. He also wrote John Legend's All of Me, which you have covered. He definitely has a vibe.
Being older may be a factor in understanding the song now, I get that. However, there are many songs, including iconic songs by legends, that I understood and felt the intended emotions of the lyrics for the first time when Anhelina covered them. She is a master storyteller and world class with her phrasing.

He has recently produced an album of his top songs called Piano Diaries. He invited Angelina to perform If I Were a Boy with him at piano. This song was originally made famous by Beyoncé in 2008, and has received over 600 million views. Most believe Angelina's version is much more intimate and emotional, and she has made it hers. Move over Beyoncé! It is more of a reimagining than a cover.

Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. She had just broken up with the man that she loved. Per Toby, he played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! The Piano Diaries is Toby's project of other singers singing his most famous songs. Angelina of course is singing this song made famous by Beyonce.
