I think what the Joker really "loves" about Harley is that she is his creation. He's a psychopath, he cannot feel real love, but Harley willingly sacrificing everything for him to a point where she became his mirror by jumping in the same chemicals that "made" him really boosts his ego. That's why he is so attached to her and tries to get her back every time. First she was a game to him. He wanted to see how far he can make this smart and beautiful woman go for him and how much he can break her. He got her to ruin her career for him, he ruined her sanity and after torturing her he probably thought he managed to break her spirit, too. When she didn't let go and continued to chase him, he just continued to play the game until he asked of her to give up her whole identity and life to "live for him" and become a female version of him by jumping into the chemicals. I think what really made him jump after her is that he realized that no one was ever so devoted to him and therefore no one would ever give him the same ego kick. While she probably thought that with her devotion and love she could "save" him. You can see that later in the movie when she has that vision of getting him back, he wasn't the Joker anymore. He was a loving husband and father. That's why they are so toxic, no one loved the other one for who they were, but for what they projected into each other.
Well said! 👏👏👏
Beautiful omg this made me cry but i wish he loved her the way she loved him ..

I love that this scene is from Harley's perspective. Cause the scene is so abusive and toxic but when she relives it she remembers it as a romantic moment.
No, I think this is happens. Because there's scene where he leave before he says fuck it. He so drawn to her madness he couldn't resist.
He is manipulating her but she doesn’t realise it.
Yeah, I see why you’d say that. (SPOILER)
Because joker fryed harley’s brain too. Perhaps that’s why Harley is crazy.
She knows she has a bad taste for men and is insanely developed in character in suicide squad 2
Oh absolutely, the chemistry and perspective makes the viewer want them to be a thing - but he is literally asking her live and die for him
I know everyone hates this film and everything but my god I love this scene! Harley sees this as the moment the Joker fell in love with her and it’s so chaotic and quite literally toxic! From the moment when Harley falls and Joker gives into saving her and the music kicks in, I get chills! And with the red and blue of the chemicals from their clothes, it just looks beautiful in my opinion! I love the modern aspect this scene has with the music choice and I think it works so well with both versions of these characters! A lot of you will most definitely disagree but I think this is the best scene in the film and the whole thing should’ve just been a Joker and Harley movie!
I think it’s a great movie-well, the ending is strange. I don’t care what anyone says.
I didn't really like the film that much but thought this was a great scene as well.
this scene was cool, but overall the movie doesnt do it for me, especially that third act.
I completely agree.
Thats why we need the ayer cut to be released like the snyder cut. This movie is hated because its just deleted and reshot scenes by another company that was hired after the executives watched the original cut and said it was too scary for audiences (we see robins death and harley get tortured by joker) so they wanted to make it more family friendly.
Most people don't know that originally in this scene the joker pushed her into the chemicals against her will, but since this is from her perspective its showing it as what she remembers as a 'romantic' moment due to the manipulation the joker inflicted upon harley.
I don’t think he would’ve pushed her against her will because this was all just her proving her love and commitment to him, but that is a good theory.
@@denizroohy7099 originally in the comic she was pushed against her will, or at least looked like it. I'm not sure if in the movie they made her jump willingly as an adaptation or it's showing how she (falsely) remembered it happening, but either way the original scene was far from romantic

@Yuvraj Dhaliwal no Margot made it like that The suicide squad is after suicide squad from 2016 so... Yeah 😎 but I do know that each one was made in a different year. But in bop the time line is BEFORE suicide squad so
I like the fact that joker just dives into that chemical pool and than just stands up like its only 4ft deep

Well he did intend to let her die
Ajjajajaja that doesnt make sense lol

This scene was very well done. The music, the dialogue, the acting. I love it
This scene so iconic wish they’d get they own movie one day 🔥
I wonder how different the movie could have been if they had focused more on the Joker/Harley relationship. Jared Leto and Margot Robbie had great chemistry together.
Them having great chemistry is a problem for the Joker as a character, him and Harley is not a romantic couple, it's an abusive relationship where Harley is always lead down the wrong path by Joker. And Joker never really cares for her unless it directly affects him.
Sure, wouldn't mind them focusing on their relationship, but it being lovey-dovey Bonnie and Clyde style would be so damn wrong...
Dead25m Chemistry doesn’t mean that the characters love each other, it means that the actors are able to connect and work well together.
@@yourrapunzel Well, shame then that they wrote the Joker/Harley story-arc completely off as if the writers havn't seen a comic book before. I was just refering to the fact that they shouldn't be as lovey-dovey as they are in this movie. And idk if i agree about the fact that the actors connected well like that, the whole movie is so off imo it's hard to tell. (And chemistry does mean the characters are physically/emotionally visibly attracted to eachother, but since you were talking explicitly about the actual actors then yeah that's different)
Margot sure did a good Harley, shame everything else was poorly written, and shame for Leto to not get to show what he could have done with Joker, if he has the range to actually do a good Joker.
Jared leto
Why defend a man who sent used condoms and animal corpses to his co stars in hopes of “preparing” for the role even Margot Robbie so unless he was the greatest joker to ever hit the big screen he was eventually gonna go

I know a lot of people don't like this scene because it romanticizes Joker and Harley Quinn abusive relationship, but I like to think that it's this way because it's all from Harley Quinn's point of view. That because of her obsessive love for him, she remembers this moment fondly even though in reality it's probably actually something quite cruel, but Harley had twisted to fit her fantasy.
No this happened. The joker is seen trying to leave her before he says fuck it and jumps. He so drawn into her Madness he couldn’t resist.
exactly, plus the music slaps
So joker cant fall in love cz he is not a good person ... honestly thats not love works. They both complimented each other in whichever way... love is love(that means there is no right or wrong in love)
@@zoravarzordar7348 he's not just "not a good person" he's the embodiment of everything evil that a person can be. The joker only manipulates Harley because he needed a sidekick to break him out of Arkham, he doesn't love her.

Storyline: Before she became Harley Quinn, she was assigned to the Joker (her patient at the time). Overtime she grew madly in love with him (as she explained in the movie Birds of Prey). He asked her to get him guns so he could escape and she did. He came back and fried her brain as revenge for "Leaving him in a black hole of confusion" as he stated early on in the movie. Harleen Quinnzel (her original name) was still madly in love with the Joker. So he took her to Ace Chemicals and told her to prove her love to him by falling into the chemicals. When she fell into the chemicals It bleached her skin (which is why it's so pale) and her hair (which is why it's white). The blue from her shirt and the Red/Pink from his shirt started to melt in the chemicals which is why the color started popping up into the chemicals which also gave her the blue and red/pink hair at the ends. Afterwards she had completely turned into Harley Quinn (the name the Joker gave her) and gave her all her tattoos except her leg ones because in the beginning of the movie at the night club you could see she didn't have her leg tattoos yet. When she got caught by batman and taken to prison she gave herself the leg tattoos as you could see they were upside down and one of them were marks of how many days she was there and one says "I'll wait forever" meaning she was already in prison by the time she gave them to herself.
P.S. Sorry it's so long but some people didn't know how she turned into Harley Quinn.

Joker didn't save her because he loved her. He saved her because he couldn't resist her madness. His emotions for her are shallow, she's just a plaything and once he got her, she's boring to him.

This is honestly my favourite scene because it adapts one of my favourite moments in the new, 52, and the music is so fitting,
UNPOPULAR OPINION:
Jared leto's joker was the perfect fit for joker and Harley quinn duo i mean there were some flawes but i can't imagine heath ledger and joaquin phoenix having a Harley quinn by their side they're more like a solo joker like harley didn't even exist
Bro I’ve been saying this for years exactly I could never see Heath or Joaquin going alongside Margot’s Harley and that’s what I love about Jared he fits perfectly into the universe and he looks incredible with the black tux on imo
@@chxrliet8275 Facts. I hope they give jared leto another chance and a decent screen time that will highlight his way of portraying the joker's character.
Yeah, sorry not interested in some one like Harley, for me its Sophie.
I can see Joaquin with a Harley, tbh. I don't think it'd work with Ledger though, he's just too psychopathic.
I say this every time someone criticizes this joker, glad I'm not the only one
I don't quite agree with the hate Jared Leto's Joker portrayal received. He was/is a very different kind of Joker than all the others before him. He is a young flamboyant punk, psychotic and brash with a devil may care attitude. All the Joker's on film are very different from each other yet incredible in their own way. Heath Ledger's Joker was an anarchist. Jack Nicholson was the OG gangster and I am sure Joaquin Phoenix will also be different. All of them are good actors and that's what makes each Joker portrayal stand out in their own way.
It's ok to be different but atleast not cringey
Theres different kind of jokers and each one have their good parts .. I don't have a fav i love all of em but I understand why this one got hate because this joker hasn't been like this in years
right? this urban, gangster style joker fit well into the context of the movie which was a bunch of themed criminals in the modern world. yes, maybe this was a much more "let's put on a show" take of the joker that what we're used to but who's to say that this version of the joker doesn't exist inside the complex mess that is the joker himself?
YGhappyvirus I agree. Heath was amazing as joker but he wouldn’t have fit in this style movie. And Jared would not have fit in the Dark Knight. Jared was good for the context of the movie. And he is hot lol
I more dislike Jared Leto and don’t want him back because he harassed Margo Robbie constantly and touched her inappropriately + without her consent during filming certain scenes. It made it her so uncomfortable that she requested he be removed. If he’s going to be a creepy prick like that, then he can fuck off
Joker's jump was an amazing coolest jump i have ever seen in movies 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
harley was the jokers creation, she was trying to help him, fell in love and they was amazing, during the acid scene, harley jumps in to prove to him her love, and joker was meant to just walk off and leave her there, but a little thing inside him told him to go back and save her, he is her owner, she controlled her and made her harley quinn, she loves him and he did too, the reason harley’s hair is the blue and red is from the acid taking the colour out of her blue shirt and jokers red shirt, meaning they technically will always be together in some form, they was almost tailored for eachother and need eachother, like they’re own world and they ruled it, they was the duo everyone knew about and probably hated, but if they was in the room you had to keep your mouth down and you knew it, harley’s hair always shown how they are a part and just shows the fact she loved him so much she jumped atleast 50ft into acid, burnt her skin pale making her as pale and she is and permanently keeping her hair blue and red/pink
Jared had the potential to be a great joker, if the writers didn't screw up the character, he still nailed this scene though.
He was the best joker it was the directors fault.
@@kodychambers3481 just fukken lol if you believe that.
@@daynejoseph2366 sorry he’s not the best joker you are… wait your not a joker… your an entire Circus.
@@kodychambers3481 Your is possessive, meaning that something belongs to you or the person you are speaking to. For example, “What is your name?” Or, “Are these your car keys?”
You’re is a combination of the words, you and are. This is called a contraction. So, whenever you see the word you’re, you can read it as you are and it will still make sense.
@@daynejoseph2366 nothing that you say at the moment makes sense…
