I unfortunately learned this concept at the end of the season but it makes like so so easy. Glad someone put this on YT for everyone else to see!!! Such a great channel. Also something I found was the more extended I could get my opponent the easier it would be to get a super deep half. Another thing is people would time it going over and explode through and I’d kinda get in weird scrambles. So just be ready to sink the half in cuz at a certain point they’re gonna start freaking out.
It should be a slow turn and also keep the opponent as extended/stretched as possible. The biggest issue that leads to rollthrus or someone getting an arm free is giving them a brief moment where they aren't totally extended or your hips are stretching them and keeping things tight.
in the first match, as a freestyle wrestling official, I would of stopped the action and warned RED not to have 2 hands on the head (RED could of used his forearm instead). "ATTENTION RED! WARNNG!". Then showed RED the violation. I do it all the time with new high school athletes.
I've only made one video on the bottom position. "This is the #1 Reversal Against Leg Riders" and it's talking about when the top guy goes cross body ride
12:15 “yeah that’s disgusting” was my exact thought😂
Wow, bro. You slamming Yt on it's neck with these breakdowns. Thanks!
I learned this 36 years too late
Some of my most enjoyable moments...those that I taught, and was able to help another succeed.
58 years for me. Damn.
7:45 wrist roll setup
2:05 push elbow in

You should do a breakdown of Zane Rutherfords leg riding
Great job breaking this stuff down. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Rob Koll teaches the "kimura" variation of this half @5:00 in his Leg Ride instructional
Mark Perry teaches the exact same technique- calling it simply "Power half"- in his Claw Ride instructional

Grabbing your own wrist with the figure four grip is basically a kimura from back control. Brutal
Exactly. That torque is crazy
Don’t forget Jack Mueller! That guy was an animal at leg riding…
Every wrestler should have to watch his match against Sebastian Rivera. Just dominant
@@earnyourgold 100%!
Do breakdowns to get the legs in
Do you have any videos studying putting legs in?
Zaurbek Sidakov split step breakdown please 🙏🏾
I'm sure I'll make one on that some time this month

@@earnyourgold Oh snap, you should do some then. I'll ask first: Tripod standup study.
