No ,that's great and with the beauty of mature media. The co2 is the great plant food that all plants will thrive on even with nothing much else in there. This is why I'm really interested in seeing how you get on. I have organic soil under gravel ,and no co2 injection. Still doing quite well to be fair but your growth should be faster. Yeah I think the mature k1 in the moving beds definitely helped. Still had a bit of ammonia for the first couple of weeks and nitrite for about 3 weeks but have used seacham prime daily so no big issue really. Looking forward to seeing the tank Les 👍
Hey mate, nice video. Looking forward to seeing what fish you go for and any algae eaters etc. Just one thing on the ATO. The final chamber is where the evaporation will happen so the sensor needs to be in with the return pump. The other chambers should stay the same level. Thats why in the Salty world we have the skimmer in the middle chamber for instance because the water isnt going up and down effecting the skimmer. Great pump by the way. I've got the Jebao MDC 10000 and its been rock solid.
Thanks bud. Yeah I see where you're coming from with the ATO. I put it where it is hoping that it would still do its job in that chamber, its been running three weeks now and has worked out. I think it's because of the final weir in the sump, as its set quite low the last 2 chambers seem to lose the evaporated water equally. As for the fish, I'm looking at a community tank full of colour and character! And yeah I'll definitely get some algae eaters once the tank is established 👍
