That is some really good info there. My wife passed away last Thanksgiving and when I see a notification of a video that you have posted it really makes my day.
Thanks and God bless you and yours!
Sorry to hear about your wife passing, really good to hear that you enjoy the videos. Thanks for watching and god bless
Thanks for taking the time to explain your rigging so thoroughly. Tight lines to you!
How 4 people gave "thumbs down" to this or any of your videos is beyond me.
I have used that exact rig for more than 30 years. It’s always good to watch your videos.
I feel like I’m 12 again having dad teach me something from the View of your kid. He is doing a good job on the videos.
Oh please!! Never use that phrase, "the View" again! I just cringed when I saw it! 😂 😂
You're the first fisherman I've seen that ties a snell the same way I do.
Thanks Hagen. You do an excellent job of explaining the rigs you use and how they work. Keep up the videos. and we'll keep watching.
I have tried many ways to tie a snell knot and your way was the best I’ve seen. Went right out and tied one like you shown and it was fast. Super strong too. Thank you 😊
I been hoping for you to do this,my buddy was asking me how to make catfish Riggs because I fish a lot but mainly crappie and walleye,I told him about your channel and catfish dave so this will help tremendously, thanks and God bless you too my Brother! Say howdy to Landon for me,I love that boy,he's a keeper!!
Outstanding as always, you have a great way of explaining, verbally and visually, keep them coming!!!
Great video Hagen. I always learn a lot from these instruction videos!!
First person I’ve seen to recommend somone else’s video other than trying to make a similar one of his own. 👏
I never get tired of these instruction videos even if some of them are the same 👍🏿
This really helped a lot thank you for taking the time to make it
That’s one of your best videos. You always do a great job on explaining and no one can say anything about your methods because you and your boy put some monsters down
OK! I am now "Hagenized". Spent the day switching over to 3 way Crane swivel on most of my cat rigs. It always was so frustrating to have to redo a rig when changing out to fish differently. Now things will be much faster. Thanks Hagen. God bless.
That 3 way rig is nice. Never really used it for anchoring because I figured it would tangle when casting it, but since you say it doesn’t, it’s getting added to the arsenal 😁😁. Great video my friend!!!!
Awesome video as always. So many different ways to rig off your starting point. Very interested in these ball type chain swivels for when I run 3ways on the boat. Thanks for new ideas
Some great set-ups, Thank you for sharing Hagen. Take care and stay safe, God Bless.
Great information and instructions! I just rigged some rods for big cats last week with egg slip sinkers on the line. I think I’ll redo a couple with this system. I haven’t been catfishing in several decades, but catch a few stray ones even when fly fishing. Your videos got me motivated and there are some nice spots around here in central Texas. Really appreciate all you do. Thank you Hagen and Landon! 👌👍🎣 God bless y’all!
It’s great to hear that our videos inspired you to target catfish, thank you for the support and good luck out there fishing. 👍
I just tried your rig yesterday and it worked perfectly. I have had the problems you talked about with the other styles of rig’s.
Thank You
John Hakala
Thank you for watching, I’m glad it worked for you 👍
Great video nice that you took the time to explain why you rig that way!
One hell of a instructional brother, good luck out there!
Thanks, Hagen. Good tips and advice. God bless.
Great video Hagen really informative !
dude you deserve more supporters you are a genuine person.nice to of met ya
Great job explaining this stuff Thank you
Great video brother glad you made one like this I been getting skunked on the ky river all year I’m going to try these out
Thanks for explaining and showing how these things might move in the water. I suck at fishing and tying knots but want to do it for my kids. There's so much information online its hard to tell what to do
I like that rig, gonna start using it. Thanks for sharing Hagen.
Thats A lot of great info Hagen . Thanks for sharing
Nice demo of your set up Hagen!!!
Love your instructional videos. Will you be putting out more videos as the weather cools down. I'm always looking for new videos everyday from you and Landon.
Awesome stuff brother! Thanks for dropping the link to the Doc Lange snell. Tight lines brother
Glad I watched this I had ordered the first type of swivel you showed & cancelled the order & got the other kind after watching this & I've changed up a few things in my rigs
Great videos. Thanks!!!
Thanks needed this info and a new way to snell a hook !
Thank u man very helpful!!!!
I will give that knot a try!
Great job Hagen thank you
I learned how to tie the same snell from a CZcams video,it's very simple and like you said it will not slip unlike the easy snell knot..
It’s a great knot, thank you for watching
Thank you, it's very helpfull.
In the off season. Good idea to learn these Rigs/Knotts
Practice makes perfect but we know that first hand.
Thank you for watching

Great video nice rig
Thanks for the tips...
Thanks for watching👍
Good info thank you.
good information
Great video! I stumbled upon this one literally a day later after thinking about the whole sinker slide thing. I had my rods out in the living room and came to the same conclusion. No need to use sinker slide unless you have a slack line. Have you ever experimented with j hooks vs circle hooks vs treble hooks by chance? I'm doing that test now and was wondering if you have and what your results were?
What's up brother great video
Basically the exact same rigs I use for the same reasons. Excepts when it come to the floats. Some of my rods have a Trophy Cat Tackle Kitty Call on them so I can't switch them out. But I bring multiple rods with me So I can figure out which rigs are better to use that day for different situations. But I pretty much use the exact same rigs for everything unless I find the fish want a little bit different presentation or something.
Good video
Crossed the Ohio River last night from Ky to Illinois an it looked like there were a number of boats out. Ton of barges too.
Great video. Should have included what size 3-way swivel and duo snap to use with a 6 ounce weight and 8/0 circle hook. I have yet to see anybody explain the difference between a #3 or #4 barell swivel, and 1/0 and 2/0 barell swivel and what purpose each are used for. What size duo snap would you use for a 1/0 swivel? My terminal tackle knowledge is weak when it comes to big catfish.
Hagen can you share what size crane swivel and duo lock snap you're using. Amazon has a big range of sizes and I've made the mistake of buying too small and too large in the past. Thanks.
Great video!! It was very informative for me. Do you have a link for those large snaps you use? I can’t seem to find them anywhere.

I'm wondering why you use such big 6-8 oz weights? is it current flow, help get big baits down or does it help set the circle hooks. Thanks
I have a question on the three way rig you have why is the hook line is on the bottom swivel because usually the hook line is on the middle swivel instead of the bottom but yous you sinkers on the middle swivel and the hook on the bottom but usually that’s the opposite you think you’ll get tangled easier that way.
What size swivels are you using?
Can you use this knot on octopus hooks??
Lol, I was curious, halfway through the video as to why you didn't talk about sinker slides/Carolina Rigs.....I see why you don't use them as much now! When you explained that your bait might be heavier than the sinker. Idk how many times I've casted a live Bluegill (palm sized) and that thing & my sinker land 15+ feet from each other! Thank you, now on my live bait rods im 100% going to use the "stationary sinker rig"...... regardless.....im like you, that Catfish is going to feel the weight, no matter what when you're tight lining them (which we should, especially w/a circle hook). I also don't think Catfish care about the weight anyway..... except maybe possibly a spawning Flathead that's on a bed right at that moment, but a bedded Flathead probably isn't the easiest fish in the river to catch anyway, lol. Thanks again brother! Great content as always!
Hi Hagan. I watched a video of yours. You used a 9/0 tackling cat hook. I cant find it nor your video Could you tell me the link please,Thank you love your vids. Hated seeing Landon break off. Broke my heart to.
What kind of camera do you use.
What is the leader material and test? Leader material and test compared to main line material and test? Thank you!
Does it not need a floater for cat fishing? Thanks
I like your rigging except for the circle hooks, I been trying them for the last year and caught some fish but I lost more than I caught and the last 4 I lost would have broken my record of 25lb. But whatever works is the main thing. Thanks for sharing this video and God bless.
I am country too but ateteen einches lol
Great video hagen all you tie on braid is polomar? All sizes?
Yes cornelius Catfish see I been watching you and I would really love to fish with you...
Thanks for watching man
What about making different lines with snaps on them all then you can change any combination of rugs.
Good idea, thanks for watching
Good vid, good rig.
I have to say though, I am kinda getting bored with circle hooks. The work great but setting the steel to 'em with a J hook is a lot more fun and challenging.- particularly after a few beers lol
Next Vid, Landon vs Hagan J hook tournament?
Gotta love a good hook set, I’ve got so used to circle hooks I may have forgot how to set a hook lol, thanks for watching
👍👍👍
Sure is a neat old boat
What is the difference in using the snap for the sinker than a sinker slide anchored?
Nothing really unless you put your sinker on a dropper, I just prefer this rig because of the versatility of it. Thank you for watching
What hooks are those
Was wondering what size the 3 way swivels are ???? Thanks for all you do appreciate it . Stay safe . GOD bless all your family
.
Here’s a link to the ones I’ve been using lately, thank you for watching

What size weight do you recommend for bank fishing in a river cause I’m using a 2oz but my line goes with the Current
That would all depend on the flow and how strong or light that the strength of the flow is.
I’m getting ready to make a bumping rig. What reel and size and type of reel should I use
I have a shimano tekota 400 on my bumping rod and love it but they are around 200$. in my opinion any reel that holds around 200 yards of braid should do the trick. I Do prefer a thumb bar but it isn’t a must. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the info brother. Love your videos and it’s nice to have a local CZcams to watch and that fishes the waters I do!
Any reason you aren't using rattles anymore? If I remember right, you were using clear tubing, beads, and rattles just above the hook.
Why is the leader material heaver than your main line?
.
God bless
And also where I fish its full of trees and stumps. With decent current. I feel it would be best to always use that long sinker to avoid snags
As long as the drift sinkers will hold your bait down in the current that would work just fine. When we have heavy current 2+mph, sometimes it takes as much as 12 ounces to hold the bait down and the flat sinkers help with that. Hope I answered your question but if not feel free to lmk. Thank you for watching and good luck👍
How do you tie the double hook?
Here is a video of how I tie it, thanks for watching czcams.com/video/A3IN-JWhYM0/video.html
