Not an area that's getting much light of day but it's my most pigmented area and people think it's armpit hair but it's just the skin is so dark there. I'm worried about these products toxicity too.. possible ties to breast cancer risk?

She's always talking about fragrance being harmful and this is just fragrance and only fragrance in a whole bottle. I've heard deodorants discolouring your skin. I've stopped using them altogether and believe me after stopping I could get my body odor for like 7 days and then it was gone. You don't need deo if you're bathing twice daily if you perspire. Also you can rub some lemon in your armpits and there won't be any odor.

I highly recommend Korean Makeup, especially skin make-up because the ideology is to combine skincare and makeup which is why most of the concerns discussed here are less likely to be present in them. I recommend Missha, Tony moly, Hera, The Saem and Mizon Foundations and BB creams. Not only are Irritants and comedogenic ingredients less likely, they contain some amazing ingredients beneficial to skin since you would wear make-up frequently or at least whenever you do, you would for at least a few hours.

Sadly as a Professional celebrity make up artist whos tried almost every foundation on the market ( who has oily and sensitive acne prone skin) ( which is now clear), *I disagree with the Mac Studio Fix Powder & liquid foundations, and the Giorgio Armani Foundations. I used to work for Mac Cosmetics for over 5 years and studio fix was one of our best selling foundations and one of my favorites to wear at times despite how much worse it made my skin and how it made me break out and have all sorts of bumps under my chin. The finish is so beautiful and unique but I will say many Dermatologists in the Los Angeles area along with actresses, models, and clients have all complained that they broke out really
Badly from Mac studio fix powder and liquid. I’ve always had oily skin and thought I was acne prone but my skin was just really sensitive to foundations. I started using studio fix powder at the age of 15 in high school and had the worse skin due to it at the time. Once I stopped the breakouts stopped. When I worked for Mac all I would hear were people complaining about breaking out from studio fix so despite what the ingredients say there is something in there that is causing worse skin on an overall scale. I used to joke and say there are a few blessed ones that can wear studio fix or even sleep in it and never break out, but sadly that’s not the case for the majority. I still use other Mac products and they work fine.
My top foundation recommendations for oily acne prone skin are Tom Ford Stick Foundation, L’Oréal True Match Foundation is amazing for sensitive skin And made my skin healthier and more clear, La Mer Liquid, Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid, Giorgio Armani never made me break out and looks beautiful and natural on the skin as I would get compliments all the time, Born this way liquid, Nars Creamy Concealer (Ginger for under eyes) used as a foundation or concealer), Tarte Shape tape concealer, Laura Mercier Transluscent Setting Powder, and Rcma foundation.

Hi Dr. V! This video was very helpful so thank you for posting it. I agree that we need a foundation series and just ask that you include primers for each brand in the same video if possible. So for example, I know you've already done fenty pro filt'r here but for the fenty video if you could do the fenty hydrating foundation, powder and primers, that would be great! And then separately, if we could just go over the best/worst primers overall that would also be much appreciated. I'm excited to try your sunscreen btw!

There are a few brands that specifically market themselves to cater to skin of color: NARS, Tarte, Clinic, Uma, Juvias place. All of these brands could have a video dedicated to themselves, they have individual lines that cater for oily sensitive and combination skin.

      Make up forever is okay..
Charlotte Tilbury is beautiful on the skin especially their magic and the new matte one but both made me break out pretty bad, Dior skincare is one of the best especially the rose collection but the foundation made me break out badly as it contains fragrances and other crap. This is coming from a professional make up artist of 10 years with sensitive acne prone oily skin. My skin in clear now btw.
Try L’Oréal Tru Match got drugstore or La Mer Foundation, Tom Ford Stick for high end!

      Tiecher,
I hope you don’t mind my answering? I’m a holistic master esthetician of over thirty years. Let your skin heal before using any sunscreen. If you must , use only zinc oxide but if you can, just wear a wide brimmed hat outside. Healing your acne requires you to allow your skin to breath and purge out impurity’s and sebum ( dirt , oil and dead dry skin) when you use sunscreen many times it can make things a worse. Be very mindful if you do.
Here if you need any help. With respect for Dr V. Just extra skin knowledge 🙌🏻🍑Lisa
