N.I.B.!!!
HELL FUCKIN' YEAH!!!
N.I.B. Is my shit
I think they've heard it on patreon. Actually, snowblind was in patreon too.
Cant stop until NIB
N.I.B.!!! N.I.B.!!! N.I.B.!!!
Vol.4 is pure rawness, dirtiness and filthiness. And groovy as hell. Incredible.
My favorite sabbath. Pure grove and demonic sound
A lot of that Sabbath groove comes not just from Tony Iommi, but Bill Ward and Geezer Butler, one of the greatest rhythm sections in rock history.
Agreed !
Indeed
Damn right
BIll Ward's four biggest influences were all jazz & funk drummers, hence the groove & swing in his playing
Tony brings the riffs, Bill & Geezer bring the groove.
I am so happy that Black Sabbath is getting so much attention. It is long overdue. Thanks fellas.
Children of the Grave AND Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Then back to Kyuss. :D
out standing
bloody oath
The entire Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album is insane
National acrobat
Sabbath bloody Sabbath, for me , is their masterpiece 🤘
And with him saying Black Sabbath was his favorite band. My dark soul grew three sizes that day .:)
Ah, my little black heart. 🖤🖤🖤
If Black Sabbath isn't your favorite band you've got some explaining to do.
@@Mr_Gray_Sky Rush is my favorite band. Love me some Ozzy, though.
@@WisecrackJax Just try listening to more Black Sabbath and that should clear up pretty quick :)

"Tony Iommi is the master of metal riffs. " - Ozzy Osbourne.
I cannot say it any better than that.
80% groove by Bill Ward though
Guys a legend of metal
I can. "Tony Iommi is the master of guitar riffs". P.E.R.I.O.D.
"GOAT status. The best song we've done." snow-blind is their magnum opus. a lot of fans don't recognize it. it so simple. but the simplicity is the key. this song is unbelievably perfect.
Agree
Facts 🔥💚🤟🏽
Snowblind is definitely my favourite, or one of fav. Because you can hear, that transition from early trinity albums, that Doom sound to more experimental.
Bill ward's Snowblind drums are a machine with feelings
I wish they would've listened to Bill's drums on this one. His subtleties are incredible! I love his triplets on the hi hat during the verses!
@@robbthomas5258 I've been listening to this music for 25 years, and only in recent years have I started to really consciously hear what a swinging jazz drummer Bill is. I think that Bill and Tony hardly ever play the same exact groove, but their grooves interlock so well. Bill's swing makes Tony sound heavier.
Bill Ward MAKES Black Sabbath (together with Iommi, Geezer & Ozzy!¡) A classicaly trained friend of mine said: "this guy's off beat" & we said "Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaah"
Such a strong groove, but when he needs to, he beats those drums like they owe him money!
Love the sound of his snare! They definitely got it right in the studio!!!!
You’re not allowed to stop the marathon until you’ve done CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE 😉🤘🏻
You mean Children of the Grave. Children of the Damned is an Iron Maiden song 😉
@@cloneboy42 Also a DOPE song to be fair
Yes, and more Dio days.
Uri V. - Sorry, Freudian slip!! 😂
Philip Repp - good suggestion 👌🏻
I’m not sure how underrated he actually is in the rock world, but I can’t help but feel that Bill Ward has never really gotten the full props that he truly deserves.
Hell of a damn drummer, innovative in his own way yet familiar in another. Just a damn solid rocking dude who definitely influenced a hell of a lot of people.
He's definitely a GOAT
He’s super underrated. Sabbath even underrate him and cut him out of their reunion farewell tour, and it was unfortunate and the performances suffered. for it. Can’t say enough about him
Bill could have played with Zappa
@@BaronvonBlutwurst I love Bill Ward's drumming, but Zappa had guys like Terry Bozzio drum for him... I don't think Bill could have kept up
BILL WARD IS THE TRUTH!!!!!!
Ozzy has one of the coolest, most unique voices and I just love it, particularly in the chorus. You guys kill me with your impressions/love of Black Sabbath! Imagine it being 1971, you're 11 years old and borrowed "Paranoid" from your friend's older hippie sister. You look at the inside cover and read the lyrics. You're a little frightened and after listening to something so incomparable (we didn't even have FM radio yet!) you try to decipher what you just experienced. In the morning you look at your Partridge Family lunchbox and wonder, "When will they make a Black Sabbath lunchbox?"
It came out in 1972. I was 10. My brother Mike was 13. When this song came out he was listening to all sorts of rock! He started buying records, I was still reading Famous Monsters.
@@ronmerchant3934 Paranoid was released in September of 1970. "Black Sabbath" was released in February of 1970.
That’s hilarious & I can totally picture the scene!! This IS just a killer effing JAM & I’m so happy that the guys love it as much as they do!! Isn’t it awesome when someone loves something as much as you do, or happily discovers how great it is and you nod your head, thrilled that they think like you do & love what you love?! It’s acknowledgement that you really DO have GREAT taste in music, and we all love that!
I was born in 1960! My all time favourite group ...that is all I have to say. 👍👍👍😊
I love Ozzy's voice too
When you know the fast riff is coming up and these guys aren't gonna know whats gonna hit them.
Exactly haha
Hahaha that’s why I tuned in 🔥
I know right? I was like, wow, you guys really don't know it?? Fantastic to see the pure reactions!! Those hip-hop heads can warm metal heads' hearts.
Yes dude I get so hyped to see them react to the ending solos.
Nothing makes me smile more than watching these fellas getting their minds blown by Sabbath tracks. Shoutouts to you George and Ryan! Love the videos.
Geezer Butler wrote most of the lyrics for Black Sabbath. And one of the best bass players of all time.
Yes Geezer was the main lyrics man. Ozzy also wrote some but as Iommi once said Ozzy was always great at coming up with melodies. Many times just his way of singing the lyrics and bringing in his melodies into new stuff it just changed the whole thing into something very different and much better.
Imagine being 14 years old in 1979, smoking some pot with your friends, and sitting down and listening to this music. It was mind blowing.

I thought I was the only one who thought that way about educating small strange towns.
I hope Geezer, Tony, Bill and Oz watch this. I love how they get into it and how it moves them. They aren't faking it. They also make me realize what incredible writers, arrangers, lyricists and craftsmen they were in '72

I don't think they're gonna do N.I.B by Black Sabbath. I've been requesting that song for years now and it never seems to make the cut!
Bill Ward's drumming finesse on this is just feckn' phenomenal.
Damn guys, you get it. Still listening to this 45 years after first hearing it.......you guys just get it!
Wheels of Confusion is a really underrated song that opens this album that I'm sure you'll go crazy just like with this one! But sadly I think few people would ask.
Well and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is another classic that nobody should skip. Some will say that's is the actual "start of metal", as Black Sabbath (song and album) was just the warm up haha
Vol 4 is an underrated album
Agreed.
Oh the second half of that song is heaven.
Wheels of confusion rules that album hands down
It's good to see brothers open minded on this because the younger ones don't get it and the new music today regardless of genre is not hitting it.
You guys should do “The Warning” so many riffs, so many transitions, guaranteed you’ll love it!
Masterpiece
Yep. Guarantee this one too.
Absolutely!
yeah great tune!
My Sabbath fave
Going to recommend a Sabbath song called "Hand of Doom". This song takes you an a journey while telling you a story in the lyrics. Many musical transitions in the song. I think you would find it interesting.

100% I stumbled upon their Raining Blood reaction in October 2017 and have been locked in ever since. They are the gold standard.
Tony Iommi wrote every heavy metal riff there is. Everyone has just been speeding them up and slowing them down ever since.
This is my favorite song by my favorite band! The groove pacing, again, is like Iron Man trudging on inexorably to crush you underfoot. Amazing. Simply amazing 👏
It makes me happy to see you guys feeling what us metalheads have been trying to share with the world forever. Most people write it off at face value and never give it a chance, but it if you do, it might just blow your mind. I've been listening to black sabbath since I was in a crib and I'll never stop
You want a groove from hell? N.I.B. with the bass solo intro.
The music is like cathedral bells calling the faithfull. That part from 7:15 when the music takes you down, down, down in to the chorus and then the guitar solo. The changes in tempo. The transitions.
This whole album is a masterpiece!
Especially with Under The Sun. Easily beside this, the best track on the whole album.
Planet Caravan is gonna blow your doors off man. Totally different than you'd ever expect. But yeah, Snowblind is baddass, some of Iommi's best solos, and all the riffs are killer. Try Planet Caravan. Trust. I see a lot of Children of the Grave, and I would say that has an equally 'nasty groove' and some pretty great drumming by Bill.
Planet Caravan is close to be my favorite Sabbath song, its very different but it's so great.
Bathoryyy It reminds me of an acid trip

There's some kind of orchestration happening at the end of the song. By this time they had had enough success that they could afford to get fancy in the studio.
Also you need to hear Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Yea, definitely it was this George was talking about.
That's most likely a mellotron, a keyboard which is made sound like a string section on some settings.
@@Irquiois Laguna Sunrise' is an evocative neo-classical Iommi instrumental." After being up all night and watching the sunrise at Laguna Beach, Iommi composed the song.[2] In the studio, an orchestra accompanied Iommi's guitar, although they refused to perform until their parts were properly written out.[2] The same orchestra performed on "Snowblind".[2
Definitely a mellotron, they used it a lot
Simply one of the greatest rock/metal songs ever recorded.
I knew you guys would love this song. "Snowblind" has groove, incredible and seamless transitions AND a sped-up bridge AND 2 guitar solos. Oh, AND Mellotron in the closing verse and outro. Amazing. Definitely one of Sabbath's very best. 🤘🏻

This has been my favorite Sabbath song since i heard it at 12. Its just a perfect song and It is just a fact about dope. Drugs made dozens of amazing musicians write everlasting music. It’s undeniable that without cocaine, LSD, and heroine, we wouldn’t have what we do. Ozzy always gets shit for his singing, but no one can else could’ve pulled it off with the rest of them. They all worked perfectly together and it’s just talent and so good! My God Sabbath has 50 yrs of still phenomenal to this day and inspiring people. I only got to see them back together and it was absolutely incredible! My mom got to see them several times in the 70s and said they were phenomenal. They are just perfect. This can’t be a coincidence. Someone made a crossroad deal for this! lol. Too good for words!
3 or 4 days benders wrote this entire album and it’s phenomenal. Hey whatever you gotta do to get it done…your business. We got to see the aftermath and it’s glorious boys!!!
Simply the greatest band of all time. The drew the all the blueprints for every rock bands that followed.
Fellas, I actually teared up watching your reaction to this song. Sabbath encapsulates everything that was beautiful about being 17. And Snowblind, on Vol.4 might just be their crowning achievement.. Thank you :)
I feel you! I love to re-visit my favourite tunes through the experience of these guys. It kind of makes the tunes fresh and new!
I'm 25 and only discovered this album last month and it takes me back to being a teenager even though I'd never heard it before. Powerful music does that!

That final noodling that Tony is doing at the end gives me goosebumps. You can't have a more emotionally epic guitar solo for an outro. Holy shit my friends.
G.O.A.T !! on this album the closing track "Under the Sun" another masterpiece (though underappreciated) that also showcases the mastery of this epic band. 🔥🔥
Yes!
Y’all’s reactions are so genuine. I’m a Sabbath Disciple so this makes me happy. Iommi is the life’s blood. Praise the riff. Please listen to SLEEP. Even Ozzy said SLEEP captured the “ Sabbath Sound “ better than any other band.

Vol. 4 was my favorite album, when it came out l couldn't get enough of it for the funky riffs and transitions. Sabbath songs had come to be known, to me, as maze like songs where you'd travel from one aspect to another in order to come out the other end free from the maze like quality only to find out you've ended up right back where you started and be glad you did!
This September will be 50 years ago when I saw Black Sabbath in concert. I’ll be 70 in a few weeks. I was 20 years old at the time. They were around 23-24 years old then. They played a few songs from their yet to be released album. Snow blind was one of them. Do I have to say anything else.

Those ghost notes on Ward's drumming.. that's what built the swing and groove of the song. And imo one of the best vocal melodies Ozzy has written.
filthy...for sure...
Right. Ward was not a shuffle [bass swing] drummer unlike Bonham (Ward's brother from a different mother). Ward was a riding-the-crash and tom-roll fill man -- and NAILED that (might have even invented it). ['Swing' is triplets tied over.]
But this _drag_ with the ghosts was close to a shuffle. (Or was that a dragging "paradiddle"? I'm not a drummer.)
"Animal" can swing too. Waddiaknow.
