#blacksabbath #freethinkers - Zábava
Regarding the coughing in the intro, Tonny Iommi:"I choked me bloody self! It wasn’t intended to happen, and it wasn’t supposed to be on the track. We were in the studio tracking that song, and Ozzy gave me a joint and I nearly choked myself. The tape was on, so of course they wanted to use it to begin the track."
@@mirkecWii Inside joke. Lommi. 😉🤣
Symptom of the Universe - Black Sabbath
The intro is actually Tony Iommi coughing from a joint... 😂😂
Shoulda learned how to inhale...
Ozzy talked him into it, correct!
Maybe it was the 1980 Super expando SKUNK BUD... :-).
That’s hilarious I love it!
@@vladtheinhaler93 Vlad if you ain't chokin you ain't smokin.
Geezer is the unsung hero in this band for sure. He flys under the radar. respect for listening for that.
Very well put
Writes a lot of the lyrics too
Iommi as well
@@erikrodriguez1609 Not really because most people think of Iommi when Sabbath is mentioned.
So wrong on that. People that no sabbath know ozzy and geezer. Bill ward is vastly underrated
"Planet Caravan" for something different from Black Sabbath. A real chill track.
Solitude!!!
Up
It would be great to get your take on Planet Caravan. A song they wouldn't be expecting.
YES! My favourite track on shrooms
And the Pantera cover as well
Geezer writes most lyrics, Ozzy comes up with his own vocal melodies.
And Tony and bill make it epic each n every fckin time
So it might be similar the the smiths? (I hear booing in the distance...) Johnny marr the guitarist wrote the main music whereas morrissey wrote the melody for the vocals. So I presume iommi writes the riffs.
Danny Dorko Yes he did
Tony made the riffs
@@dannydorko7075 What a "booing" The Smiths is a wonderful band and it's no shame for metahead to listen to them. Great example is Phil Anselmo from Pantera who named one of Pantera's songs Cemetary Gates as a homage for Smiths:) Johnny wrote music, Morrssey wrote lyrics and vocal melodies in Black Sabbath Ozzy was responsibl for melodies but his vocal melodies are very close to riffs. Dio was much more creative:)
I think Bill on those drums is so underrated. Was a huge difference after he left in my opinion.
Bill Ward is one of my drumming hero’s, brother! The man could stay in the cut as good as any drummer ever, including the Appice brothers! Dude could add little nuances and slick little time changes, but never leave the cut! Dude is one of the best drummers, ever.. Period!👊🏼👊🏼
Not underrated at all. He's up there with the best .
Well established as one of the best
Not underrated
"and how the world, will love you sweet leaf" - He wasn't wrong!
If you decide to move on from Sabbath finish off with a double whammy: 'Children of the Grave' and 'Symptom of the Universe'
Symptom... one of the heaviest seventies riff
&sabbath bloody sabbath
And black sabbath! of the same album, whit the triton sound👹👺😈🐐🔱
@@p.b.palaciosalmafuerte3463 they did it on patreon
Yes!!!!!
So many calling for "Symptom of the Universe." So many are correct. Just Do It!
Seconded. I was sitting here thinking "what song should they done that they haven't done yet?" and 'Symptom of the Universe' was the first song that came to mind.
@@jwesley235 Hole in the sky, or. Meglomainia. You can't go wrong with any of them. Of course Ozzy couldn't hit those notes not long after the album dropped. I have a live vid from that tour.
Yes!
Tony's guitar solo in Symptom is one of his best ever in my opinion
One of the heaviest riffs by them. Gotta love the use that tritone.
The cough makes it one of the greatest intros ever.
They just didn't put it together until later, with the weed cough and the song title. They are to to young to understand it.
@@peterroberts5788 what?
@@peterroberts5788 ?
@@manipreferchicken4083
The cough is Tony iommi coughing after inhaling a joint legit
@@peterroberts5788 they literally picked up on it right away lol
I love how you guys love the transitions. That’s such an underrated beauty of Sabbath, they were true pros
Indeed!!
Keep going with Sabbath.
Don't stop doing Sabbath.
Symptom of the universe is a part of Sabbath you haven't touched yet, and it's absolutely fire!
Maybe the first thrash metal song ever?
Topland agreed! Been asking for this song for quite a while now....
Sympton of the Universe is a MUST!
Major facts
I was very relieved when you guys admitted the singing prowess that Ozzie possesses. NOBODY in this world could sing this song quite like him. Magnificent!
This is the first Sabbath song I ever heard. It was 1972, I was 12. 50+ years later, it still resonates with me like a 12 year old
Hell yeah, hope you're doing well man
CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE and SYMPTOM OF THE UNIVERSE!
Last song must be CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE!!!!!!
With the Embryo intro
Hell yeah
da nect should......b.....
I'm 50 and I remember the first time I heard this I was 12 high af in a buddy of mine care and I was blowed away
Never a dull moment with Bill Ward! He's high energy. Those wierd breaks are classic Black Sabbath.
Tony - mighty riffs
Ozzy - melodies
Geezer - lyrics
Bill - beats and funkiness
4 forces of nature
The fact that Sabbath sound equally groovy with both Dio and Osbourne, shows how much talented Tony Iomie is. He knows how to change the setup based on the singer. Probably the best band guitarist.
Geezer also brought the funk!
Sounds about right
🤘😆🤘
Geezer brought some great bass lines along too
The song “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” or “Hand of Doom” PLEASE!! You’ll love the groove and rhythm!!
RicoSeattle I’ve been muttering Sabbath Bloody Sabbath under my breath since they started Sabathon
@@cndluluv I'm not a big Black Sabbath fan, but one of the few songs I like by them is that one. It'll be very unfortunate if they move on from Sabbath without listening to "SBS".
Definitely need to see an Black Sabbath “NIB” reaction
They are incredible live. It was a religous experience when 30k people are viblng out to the music the band is going off the show ended with an epic firework show it was group euphoria. Meand my boys hitch hiked and camped out to make the show it was the reunion tour😀😀😀
Under the sun everyday come and goes Black Sabbath
Colt Outlaw exactly
The best sabbath song
If you're finishing up on Sabbath for now, then you've gotta get to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Children of the Grave, or Symptom of the Universe.
N.I.B ?
Megalomania ?
Hole in the Sky
they haven't discovered the brilliancy of Tony Martin yet.
Agreed
Tony Iommi is the riff master everything he touched just sounded catchy
Ozzy does the melody of his voice on Sabbath songs. He's brilliant in that way. Sometimes he does something that compliments the riffs like this song but sometimes he matches the riffs exactly, like Iron Man, which made that song. Thanks for the react.
The coughing at the beginning is a recording of Tony Iommi coughing while smoking a joint with Ozzy.
Hasish actually, much love!
Geezer typically wrote the lyrics. Tony typically wrote the riffage. Bill Ward had some skills other than the drums, though, and he sang on later records. Ozzy wrote in his autobiography that Ward is quite talented.
Okay. Now, do "Symptom of the Universe", "Hand of Doom" and "After Forever".
That's right! Ozzy accompanied them with his talent, the guy followed the melody and started to sing, even before Geezer wrote the lyrics!
Each one was extremely talented. As for me, (being a bass player) Geezer was the MAN!!!
Hand of Doom is the track, that or N.I.B.
well after Sweet Leaf sets in you have to listen to Planet Caravan and trip with it. ;)
The whole Master of Reality record is essential. You need to heard the whole album.
Best album they did imo. It’s a masterpiece from start to finish.
Sharon and all the Osbourne family thank you for taking care of our Ozzy and sharing a part. Hes effing Ozzy, and its just the shit we like. ☮️💜🤘🔥🙌
NIB, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Children of the Grave. Any of these would be incredible.
To finish at the highest level: Snowblind, Wheels of Confusion, Cornucopia, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Killing Yourself to Live, Hole in the Sky and/or Symptom of the Universe...
Fabio Lignelli I agree with everything you listed except cornucopia. I’d switch out under the sun for it.
Both are excellent...
By the way, all songs on Vol 4 are exceptional, including those mentioned...
Hand of Doom too.
I am absolutely sure that they would be impressed with "Cornucopia". With "Under the Sun" too...
You guys popped my cherry years ago with the reaction videos...and you never disappoint. Your energy and enthusiasm is infectious. Rock on my brothers 🤟
When I got into Sabbath as a teenager, they were the uncoolest band on the planet. Now, there's a huge mural of the four of them in Birmingham and there's even a permanent council-maintained 'Black Sabbath bridge' with a bench. How times have changed! As the years have gone by, Sabbath is now just naturally liked music by everyone.
Symptom of the Universe!
A National Acrobat & Children of The Grave with more votes.
been a Sabbath fan since I was a little kid thanks to my dad. I love that these guys recognise how good the ending of that solo section really is! I've always loved how Geezer basically takes over control of the tempo & Tony follows him pretty much straight away but Bill takes his moment and just keeps his groove going for a bit longer into the transition, its goddamned beautiful.
You guys are always awesome! Thank You so much for your deep appreciation for Sabbath and rock/metal in general. Keep up the great work!
Embryo/Children of the Grave is the logical conclusion for a Sabbath marathon.
Please finish this Sabbath maratone with gold key, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath!!
Geezer wrote all the lyrics and Ozzy wrote all the vocal melodies. The band said they were amazed at how Ozzy could just hear a riff and immediately come up with a killer vocal melody. They said the very first thing he sang/hummed was almost always what they went with.
Btw, Zakk Wylde said the same thing about Ozzy. He said he's great at writing melodies and spotting good riffs & song ideas. He also comes up with some of the song titles & concepts.
Loving all this, Sabbath is possibly my favorite band of all time. Their guitar sound is partially due to Tony Iommi losing his fingertips in an industrial accident when he used to work in a factory. he loosened the strings to make it easier to play and it added to the "doom" sound. The killer riffs are almost all Iommi, Geezer did almost all the lyrics, but Ozzy had the melody (usually). If you finish with stoner rock do more Kyuss: Whitewater
PLEASE consider doing punk rock next: The Clash, The Stooges, then Ramones and Sex Pistols.
One more shot of Sabbath! N.I.B. or Children of the Grave!
I've been loving the shit out of the Sabbathon
N.I.B
If you guys only have one more In you, touch of the “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” or “Sabotage” albums. If I may, please go for:
“Sabbra Cadabbra”
“Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”
“A National Acrobat”
“Hole in the Sky” or
“Symptom of the Universe”
Totally with you on that man, possibly the most creative and expansive Sabbath ever got on them albums but are often overlooked for War Pigs, Iron Man and Paranoid etc. By the way I'd throw in The Writ, Thrill of it All and Killing Yourself To Live. Get it done boys.
Ozzy was at his best singing on these 2 great albums as well.
@@John__Dough definitely mate he was certainly at the peak of his powers then.
Stephen Adams I'm in total agreement...they have to touch on those two albums! The band were at they're creative peak and Ozzy never sounded better!!

Great seeing guys react to something we’ve been listening to for 40 years
‼️‼️Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave‼️‼️
ebear1454 stone sour live version is good too
The guys will explode when that song kicks in!
We gotta write this along with Embryo guys com'on!!!
Do this song and react to all the best fir us. How bout a reaction outside in a park or something to this song. Children of the grave. Aight you just earned my patreon support.
Please guys, just do this one. :p
Children of the grave is a must guys!!!! Please!!!
Your right about the sound. no one was sounding like that back then. I was listening to this on LP in my Dads that 70s basement with gold shag carpet, wall to wall paneling, HIGH, in a lazyboy chair with headphones to a HI-FI stereo. When I was 12! The words are timeless. It is part of my DNA at this time and even prophetic when they said everyone would know how good the leaf is! Think about it.
I love how y'all hear such detail and subtleties in the music - really great stuff!
SYMPTOM OF THE UNIVERSE!!!! Nike - “Just Do It!” ✔️
JUST DO IT!!!!!!
Tony: The Riffs
Geezer: The Lyrics
Ozzy: Vocal Melodies
Bill: Beast Mode :D

S.B.S. is my fav. Nothing more to tell. Living just for dying
a national acrobat is amazing too from this lp

And I think Bill arranged some of the songs, I’m pretty sure he arranged Fairies wear boots. 🤘
Sabbath... the Masters of Reality and of groove...🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
ALL RIGHT NOW!! ryan cracked me up with his take on what that meant!😆 love this channel fellas its like im reliving all these songs through you! so cool! honestly keeps me smiling and laughing every episode✌️🤘
My girlfriend always says " I really want a set of you 2 guys as bobbleheads for my car! Hahahaha!
Children of the Grave, PLEASE one of my favorites!
Yea, Tony plays in C# and I have always done too, that's a step lower than drop D, and regular tuning is E, all my life I never knew how to tune a guitar so I just tuned it to Black Sabbath's tuning and haved played it that way ever since I got my first guitar in 1984'. I didn't know my tuning until I downloaded a few guitar tuning apps from Google Play Store'.
SYMPTOM OF THE UNIVERSE is a must. It hadn’t everything you love about them already and more. You won’t be disappointed
“Symptom of the Universe” and “Lord of this World to finish Sabbath.
And Sabbath Bloody Sabbath would be great

CLUTCH "Big news 1&2", "Escape from the prison planet", "Spacegrass"
I think a little Clutch would be a logical next step in your stoner rock journey...
My buddy used to be their sound guy for when they were on tour, he said they were some really cool guys.
First time I heard Clutch is when they opened for Pantera in '96, I think. Lead came out in flannel and jeans.....I thought, "who the hell is this opening for Pantera?" Anyways, they freaking rocked it!
Clutch suck
YES. They did The Regulator, but Clutch has so much heavy, sludgy, stonery nastiness in their catalogue that would appeal to them so much more. They gotta dig into Clutch a little more fo sho
you guys are great...so positive...my fav Black Sabbath tune (& album)...so movin'...
Three more Sabbath suggestions: Symptom of the Universe: maybe the first thrash song, Children of the Grave: almost prog-ish with awesome drums, and N.I.B.: super groovy.
T.J. Sigler god I’ve been hyping N.I.B. In every video trying to get them to listen it’s just a badass song
yes, yes, listen to this man!
The coughing at the beginning is Tony Iommi taking a haul off of a massive joint that ozzy rolled

I’ll be 69 years old in a couple of weeks. My buddies and I saw Black Sabbath in concert in New Orleans in September 1972. I was a twenty year old puppy then. It was on my urging that we agreed to go. Why I had to mention this? We were only a few blacks in attendance at that time. My favorite concert of all time and believe me I’ve been to a few. Sabbath is no doubt my favorite group. Oh yes, also the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Didn’t see Hendrix live but I did see Stevie Ray Vaughn live. Nuff said.
This marathon can only end after a reaction to N.I.B
THE MARIJUANAUT'S THEME by Sleep. It's about getting so high while listening to Black Sabbath that you go to outer space
This the first time I have heard this song. Honestly, my exposure to Black Sabbath has happened on this channel. Sweet Leaf, as Ryan would say, is FIRE!
Sat down to do my morning meditation...and saw this...and well, that was my meditation. Will be smiling and grooving for the rest of the day. I am sooooo envious of the sound system you have in your booth! YES, Patreon👍🏻🇨🇦
SYMPTOM OF THE UNIVERSE!!! The end jam is one of best things Sabbath ever put to record.
From Sabbath, the underrated A National Acrobat: doom-filled riffs all over the place
F*** YES.
Love that tune!

It's so refreshing to see Blacks appreciating rock music
You guys gotta do Symptom of the Universe. Arguably the first thrash song.
I'd argue Overkill by Motorhead was start of thrash

Please do: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Heaviest riffs of the entire band's catalogue, IMHO!
I just recently found ya'll in my recommendations. Love your input...Gotta say I'm crushen on you guys hard!!!!!
These guys can dissect a song like no other❤👌👏
The arrangement in the band was Tony wrote the riffs, Geezer wrote the lyrics and Ozzy created the melodies. Also, that cough in the begining was Tony taking a mad hit off a joint and they captured it on tape.
Symptom of the Universe. So good. Btw, 70’s Rock is always just so damn amazing
I actually love the version on Speak of the Devil. Faster tempo, and Brad Gillis was incredible on guitar!
You can hear Tony's fingers sliding on the strings in the beginning, I always loved that.
I really enjoy seeing people discovering for the first time music I’ve enjoyed for years. 😁
Same.
“Children of the Grave” from the same album will melt your faces.
And scared them at the end
SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH! YOU HAVE TO DO THIS!
I love all of the content, thank you very much!
10,000 years by High on Fire. Its a great combo of Doom and Stoner. The bass intro is nasty as hell. True heirs to the throne of Black Sabbath.
Totally agree
Symptom of the Universe or Children of the Grave!
Why not both?
Generally, the early sabbath was Iommi: riffs, Geezer: lyrics, Ozzy melodies, Bill: doing his thing on the drums. Truly a team effort. Hardcore fans correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve also heard Tony Iommi say that Ozzy sang to the riffs, while Dio sang to the chord progressions...
That is correct! Cheers!
That's definitely right on some tracks, like "Iron Man". Ozzy literally just sings the melody from the riff over the riff itself. But not always the case. I think Ozzy just made up a melody on some songs, or the melody was just born out of the band jamming some shit down and Ozzy bringing a lyric sheet and going nuts with the band.
Here's a link to a recent Iommi interview where he alludes to that.... czcams.com/video/zBoLMFl0jLY/video.html
Correct
Ozzy has more a blues approach to his vocal delivery, that may be what he was going for, you can definitely hear it.
Amazing song! Never get tired of hearing this one. Among many others
I think it’s the synchronization of all those bandmembers that made Black Sabbath so good ,with a lot of bands there’s one member that sticks out ,vocals guitar player whatever with Black Sabbath it’s everybody together
Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave has GOT to be next 😁
Y'all need Children of The Grave in your ear holes.
Tony did use alternate tunings on his guitar. He had an accident and lost tips of two of his fingers on the hand he used on the fret board. It was easier to depress the strings by tuning the guitar down and sounded mean as hell. He has done many interviews discussing the accident and how it influenced Black Sabbaths sound. Love your content guys!!! Always entertaining and fun.
I think Master of Reality is my personal fave LP from them, perfect from start to end
