  • I have been living a conscious consumerism lifestyle that is low waste and at times zero waste for a full year now. I take you through some of the lessons I learned during this time and how you can be better prepared to start your own low waste lifestyle journey.

Just started my journey! Most of it is easy just by a few changes, makes a huge difference!

Loved the video. Very realistic! It's not about being perfect, it's about doing the small things we can!

    Hi Maria,
I subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago because your values and thinking about sustainability really chime with me. However, I found you by default as I was researching others who have transitioned to grey. I started my 'grey' journey in March with lock-down. I had been thinking about doing this anyway so lock-down gave me the opportunity to venture forth on the first tentative steps. Now I am about 1/3 grey and 2/3s dark brown. I am taking the 'cold turkey' route and ignoring the demarcation line!!! However, what is so enchanting is that my grey and my overall colouring are turning out very like yours Silvery grey with natural darker strands, dark grey eyes and light skin....but I am having terrible trouble transitioning my wardrobe. I noticed in a previous video post that you addressed this for a short segment indicating that you had to adapt your wardrobe and wear colours you never previously considered. Like you, I work a lot of dark colours, some muted, but they now make me look so washed out. I seem to need to wear a lot more white, navy and saturated cool reds and pinks. I can wear black too and I need to update my makeup...mainly my lip colour. I would LOVE some guidance on this. I would love to hear about the colours you abandoned and the new colours and tones you introduced. I don't want to waste time, energy, money and resources on products that I'm only guessing at suiting me. Besides the cost, it is a very unsustainable way to conduct myself and encourages unnecessary consumerism. I don't know if you would consider doing a video on this topic but if you feel comfortable talking about this, it would be most welcome. There isn't much on CZcams about it and where it is spoken about, advice is brief or the grey haired person in question has completely different grey hair and skin colouring. Meanwhile, please keep up the excellent advice and support you offer us all out here in the virtual community your channel has garnered. It is much needed! In appreciation...Vera

Wow! First of all, thank you for following my journey and leaving such a positive comment! Good for you for embracing your grey - isn't it freeing???? In terms of colours, I am definitely still working on this as I cannot seem to let go of the neutrals and wearing cool pinks is for sure a new for me. I am working on the outfit video as we speak. As far as lip colour - I hear you! I for sure wasted some money on colours that don't match any more. I will look into some sustainable brands and get back to you. Once again - thank you! I hope you keep liking the content :)

Thanks for the video....very thoughtful and realistic approach.
Have u had any luck finding ways to counter yellowing of grey hair from sun? Either products or natural remedies?

On another video you mentioned a purple shampoo bar on Amazon which I bought and loved. My hair felt wonderful until they quit selling it. I contacted the company itself and they don’t make that bar anymore. So sad!
