- 11 players were drafted before Tyrese Haliburton in the 2020 NBA draft. Despite being a late bloomer in high school, he excelled at Iowa State, catching NBA attention. Although most teams feared him because of an "ugly" jump shot and inability to see him work out in person. Haliburton was rumored to be drafted anywhere from the 2nd pick to the 15th. Haliburton bet on himself and knew he would be a star so he told teams who already had star point guards not to draft him. The Kings ended up picking him and it was a shock.... Now with the Pacers Halliburton is setting the record straight and dominating the NBA putting up stat lines we have never seen before. The players drafted ahead of him will shock you and may go down as some of the worst draft decisions ever.

My only objection is with you saying the Kings, who drafted him and gave him quality minutes, "passed on him". They had 2 really good pgs to choose from but they needed better big man play so they stuck with the one they'd already invested in and moved Haliburton to get what they needed. A rare situation of both teams winning the trade
At least the gm thought that 11 players are better than him. Not the players fault that they're ahead of him.
Then the king drafted a 23 year old Davion Mitchell in the same position HIGHER than Tyrese the year after. Now that boy sucks PU

Another funny thing is Aaron Nesmith was drafted 2 picks after Haliburton and is also on the pacers!

You are wrong. Haliburton played with Kings for a year, not traded on draft night. And what about Nesmith at 14 who is clearly emerging as a secondary star on the Pacers? Kind of surface level analysis.
Nesmith is far from a secondary star. Hes a quality 3&d wing.
