  • Honda CR-V DIY Hitch Install - WITHOUT Buying Honda's $700 Sensor Relocator is today's video. We're installing a DrawTite 2" receiver hitch on our 2019 Honda CR-V. Our rig has the sensor that allows you to use your foot to open the rear gate, and Honda wants $700 for a relocation kit to keep that sensor functional when you install a receiver hitch. But we figured out how to do it without paying for the $700 kit! So if you want to know too, grab yourself a delicious beverage and join Uncle Jake and Dr. Torque on 2019 Honda CR-V DIY Hitch Install - WITHOUT Buying Honda's $700 Sensor Relocator!

    Thank you ! I used this video to install mine. Only difference on mine is that i have the parking sensors other than the hands free liftgate. I had to reroute it and then zip-tie it. Other than this all was the same. Once again, thanks !

    Do you guys have an install vid for that JP Adventure front bump bar and the lights?

    • @MotorsandMischief
      @MotorsandMischief  Před rokem

      We do not. Because SOMEBODY didn’t think he needed to record it for the channel. After this video launched we got connected with the guys at LP Aventure and they’re really great guys. We’re hoping to do some more videos with their stuff come spring and we’ll certainly try to do a video on the bar. Thanks for the question!

    I super glued the washer to the nut which insures that I didn't drop the nut or the washer while starting the nut on the bolt.

    Great video. The link for the Draw-Tite hitch is not the same you installed on your CR-V.

    Yes! Great video and tutorial. But, G damnit, I have the sensor too. Ugh. Lol. Also, as far as the lift gate, I did the swipe too, not the kick. Lol. Works way better with the kick. Not telling the wife.

    I let Uhaul install mine and they broke my blinkers/ hazards and cut into my bumper 😊

    • @MotorsandMischief
      @MotorsandMischief  Před rokem

      Oh no! We've had a lot of good experiences with Uhaul but we've also seen them mount one of these by screwing it into the gas tank, so experiences vary for sure lol.

  • @CRQF

    There’s better videos here, why don’t you say the size of the boots and the torque.

    • @MotorsandMischief
      @MotorsandMischief  Před rokem

      Boots are size 10 mens, and the torque is about 3 ugga-duggas. Seriously, we always try to give you guys the torque specs but we'll only put them in if we can find a verifiable, trustworthy source. For the Honda CRV, we couldn't find one so matter how hard we looked. Similar tow bars say somewhere around 50 ft pounds. A 2 door Jeep Wrangler that has a similar tow rating to the CRV says 60 ft lbs. But without a manufacturer's source, we're just guessing which is why we didn't include it. Thanks for the question!

    • @CRQF
      @CRQF Před rokem

      @@MotorsandMischief Found it from the hitch company it’s 59 ft/lbs for the chassis bolts and 90-100 for the tow hook/ receiver bolts for a 21 Honda CRV
