InnoTab Max: Finally a Good Review and Unboxing

- This is a quick unboxing, short demo, and review. This is the 4th generation of the InnoTab line from VTech. Previous versions were based on a proprietary OS. This one has Android as a base. This is probably the reason some older cartridges don't work on it. Don't get excited though, I don't think you'll be seeing the Google Play Store anytime soon. Everything you may have downloaded through the Learning Lodge in the past should still work as far as I know.
The biggest problems I see with the InnoTab Max are:
1. The "Home" button is basically non-responsive when you think it should be.
2. The nub on the stylus rips way too easy.
3. Installed games don't show up on the main screens. They are in "Downloads".
4. The "handle" on the back is not as big of a deal like the commercials lead you to believe.
5. It is not an Android Tablet.

I love this thing!
I was just wondering if I could:
A: play movies on the tablet with an SD card already pre-loaded with movies and cartoon series.
B: as the one girl previously stated, I have two young boys and bought them each a tablet. How can I purchase 1 app and put it on both tablets?

My son currently has the Samsung Galaxy kids tablet and it's memory is now full with about 19 apps. With the new Innotab Max tablet can you save apps to the external SD memory? Can you also save movies to the external SD card? With my son's Samsung kids tablet you can't save movies to the SD card. It forces you to view movies only over a wifi connection when the tablet's memory is full.
is the innotab max compatible with all games? or how can i figure out which ones will work . i have looked everywhere and i cant seem to find any info online :/ thinking about gettin gone for my 2 yr old

why is it when I do the registration an I go to loadinglodge it does not let me get my two free games do ihave to register it again on the computer well as of right now cant even get in to learning lodge some privacy issue they are having please help

Didn't you know that the InnoTab Max cartridge has a different design if you compared with the previous InnoTab cartridges?

How do you get to the batteries?? My daugher got this for Christmas last year and only used it like 4 times when all of a sudden it stopped turning on, so frustrating! I think Ive tried everything I could but I cant seem to find how to get to the batteries? where are they? how do you get them out? Thank you in advance

I don't have a list or anything but VTech has started putting red circle stickers on their games they know don't yet work on the Max.

I was able to download all the games I bought on my InnoTab 1, 2, 2S, 3, and 3S on to the InnoTab Max.
***** can you use downloaded games on multiple tabs simultaneously? I have twins and am trying to decide if I should go with leapfrog or Vtech.
Luke Dolan As long as the tablets are registered to the same account, they can both download the games. Game purchases are at the account level... not device level.

Bought the innotab max it won't turn on at all. I charged it, waited for green light to go off and got nothing when I hit the power button
Try holding the power button for 20 seconds or until something happens.
me too!! we had 2 (one for each niece) and one worked fine, and one of them immediately uploaded a firmware update after connecting to wifi.. and then stopped working..

I bought this innotab. Unboxed it, and set up for update. I left it to fully charge for xmas. Well after I returned nothing in my power would turn the dumb thing on! Tried EVERYTHING! then on a whim yesterday I tried plugging in another charger cord I had for my next book tablet. Low and behold it powered right up without me pushing any buttons. I only plugged it in. I hope this helps!
I forgot to add my original charger it came with still turns looks to charge. I would plug it in until light went off. But as I see others mentioned it didn't do anything. But read my reply below I got the dumb thing on by using different charge cord.... hope it helps

I think apple iPads are a lot better. I mean, you can download educational apps, games, e-book stuff, and a ton more! A parent can make a password so the kid doesn't download any apps without permission right? Kids can even watch CZcams Kids on there! Like seriously Vtech! Apple is better! I am doing this comment on a MacBook Air right now (that is an Apple computer if you didn't know)!
EDIT: Well, I do like the Vtech DX2 watch, I have it.

If both InnoTab Maxes are registered to the same account, then you can download apps you paid for on either one.
