A billion dollars for a robotic space arm 😭 while any major city’s downtown is flooded with homeless and drug users… our government’s priorities are ridiculous 😂😂😂

Wait till you realize how minuscule the budget they tend to allocate toward space exploration is😂 Other than the fact that part of a country’s sector focuses resources on their engineering minds and scientists for high tech development; don’t forget that this level of tech development is many times the start point of things that can later be used by normal people in their everyday lives. A simple example was the push for the development of battery powered drills for astronauts

I understand where you’re coming from and seeing that cost might look crazy to you, but this kind of a project will employ thousands for quite a few years as well as push what humans will be able to accomplish. On top of that, just because the government spends money on space doesn’t mean that’s all the money they have. They have billions more to spend where they like so I think instead of pointing your frustration with people actually trying to do good for the world you should point it towards the politicians who have billions more to spend and don’t put it in the right places.
