Thank you so much, I got the battery charging fault, my ac turned off, cluster light up like a Christmas tree. Saw your video did it myself and the cars back to normal. Couldn't have done it without your vid, hats off to you sir.
Hello KB Autotech & Adventure, THANK YOU! I am following your procdere and with exception of some different fasteners, eveyting is going well. I did remove the VANOS H.P. accumulator, but the is only one banngo bolt. The top holder for the VANOS accumulator also fell off and I have great access. Best video, even if backwards. Mr. P 2008 M5
I'm planning on attempting the DIY... I'll follow your steps. Thanks for the heads-up vid. Quick question, do I need to remove the radiator fan for room?
sorry, this is not fresh in my mind as it was a while ago now. youre not opening any lines for anything. Just removing hold downs etc, so nothing will leak or need to replaced if you follow this carefully.
@@Beacon_Offroad I'm struggling to get it on. And I double checked your vid. I'mma check again. By the way the bolts for the accumulator bracket is the biggest challenge .
I cant remember exactly what I said in the vid but for sure when the main bolt is tightened it clamps the itself and will hold even when the bolt is removed. You will need to use a pry bar of some type and get it off. Good luck

Whats the altenator bolts torque specs. Cant find it anywhere.
is this alternator same as the original bmw one ? thanks
The top of the accumulator bracket comes off if you wiggle it just right. Way easier to remove the bracket

Hey, no not at all, fan stays in. I 100% did all of this repair from the bottom. Good luck, its not too bad.
@@Beacon_Offroad thanks for replying. I'll keep you posted.
did you take out the fan?
What was the lines you disconnected from the passenger side. And will I lose any kind of fluid from it? Thanks

Thanks it worked but i am stuck at getting the belt back on the tensioner. How did you do it ?
That shouldn't really be a issue. I'd recheck the routing. It should just go back on if you have it on correctly..

The stock alternator won't come of the block:(...any other advice ?
