    Thanks Tim. Let me clarify. I had a person ask me was my candles smokeless. I gave her the same explanation you provided here. But she was insistent that someone she knows makes a smokeless candle. I did not know if there was a new technique or new product that I had not heard of. I have followed you for some time and I have perfected my soy container candles system.

      No wicks. Set the candle jars on candle warmers. Look for candle warers

      Yeah I'm with the others... Maybe she bought a container candle with no wick that you put on a warmer. These used to be very popular.

    I am a soap etc maker. Im in a very rustic, touristy town and would like to add dough bowl candles to my line. I like the look of the long horizontal wood wick in a long 10in up to 24in oval bowl. I havemt seen any tutorials on this. Would it be possible to het some help with this? I havent made candles so this is all new for me. I just found your channel and im living your videos!! Thank you!

    When I make my jar candles, I usually have to do a second pour because it sinks in the middle. Is there something I am doing wrong? How can I prevent this?

      DebbieSue Zetti that is natural. Depending on room temperature the size of hole could be different. If the room temperature is warm the hole size could be small but hole always happens 😭😭

    I find the BowTie JUST misses the correct diameter for most of my containers. They keep slipping one way or the other just a bit.

    I don't seem to be able to find the straight metal bar with the cut in the side of it to hold the wick in. They must only be in the states as I can't find them in Australia

    • @maryd3402
      @maryd3402 Před 5 lety +1

      If you use this be careful, the "cut" is sharp and cuts wick. I have found that plastic bag clips (side clip) work very well. very inexpensive on Amazon.

    When is the best time to put a lid on a jar candle? After it is solid but still warm? Completely cold? I heard that Yankee puts their lids on while the candle is still warm, to keep the scent in.

    • @TimberRidgeGifts
      @TimberRidgeGifts  Před 5 lety +3

      +Mary D as long as the wick is trimmed and the lid will not displace it, there really is no bad time to put the lid on. Some people say to put it on while it is still warm to prevent scent from escaping. There’s not much of a way to measure if that’s true or not. But it won’t hurt anything.

    Make your pirate themed candle smell of ocean air, gun powder and RUM and call it "Tortuga". It's a real island in the Caribbean so no one can make you pay to use the name. Anything else a pirate smells of wouldn't be worth smelling! :-)
