  • In this video, my bullion dealer Tim Marschner of the Coin and Stamp Shop and I are absolutely STUNNED by the discovery of a gold hoard in a customer's possession. Where did all this gold Krugerrands and 5-ounce gold bars come from? How old is this gold and in what condition did they find it? Why did their uncle hide his gold in his attic? Did he communicate the gold's whereabouts before his death? The questions are many, but you are NOT gonna want to miss these two fortunate couples' story about a discovery of a lifetime!
Learn from this video and start stacking silver rounds, silver bars, silver coins, and gold coins--not as a get-rich-quick scheme, but as wealth preservation. Economic collapse is coming! Learn and stack NOW. Protect yourself from out-of-control governments, evil central banks, and the failing US dollar's grip as the world's reserve currency. Make sure you build a stack of silver rounds, silver bars, silver coins, and gold coins as essential barter and wealth preservation!

A lot of envy showing in these comments. It is possible for the uncle to have buried the gold, dug it up, and then stored it in the attic and basement at different times. Or perhaps his brother, their father, stored it in his basement after he recovered the gold. So many possibilities. Family stories often have various versions, when my extended family gets together it interesting to hear the different perspectives of events from the past.
These sisters seemed amazed and grateful for the gift that was bestowed to them. Their uncle made the effort to make sure it was found by family. Doing an asset exchange of some of the gold for a cabin that their family will use sounds like diversification. The other sister said she needed money, how many stackers use their gold as savings?
My only regret it I would have loved to see a video of the original hoard before their father split it up! 😂😂

@@paulbunyon6324 Wealth is meant to be utilized. It's not meant to be buried and nearly forgotten. It's like the parable of the talents. The 3rd servant buried the money (talents were a measure of money, 1 talent was ~26kg of silver) and was punished for not making use of it.
Precious metals are a hedge against inflation. They don't really change in buying power, the fiat money just loses buying power over time. Stacking gold long term without a plan to utilize that wealth is wasteful. It doesn't not compound in value like real investments do. It just holds value.
Will they waste it on stupid things and vanities? Probably. So what was the point of him living like a miser just to have his money squandered without it actually growing or doing anything with it? It's incredibly dumb.

@@joseph1150 Obviously you and the uncle have different opinions on personal economy. You seem to have a need to grow your net worth on paper. The uncle seemed to have a need to make sure that the life he had would not be altered because of a financial situation. Plus gold is way more handy to hide than dollars. Both from friends/family and the government. Your two most likely suspects of destroying your financials.
I don't quite understand your logic of it being dumb not spending money. If spending money on material things you do not need or want does not give you satisfaction, why would you spend? You could buy properties but then you have to pay taxes and deal with tenants to maximize your investment and who needs that kind of stress in their life when you can walk out on your porch and have a nice cup of coffee instead and enjoy the sun knowing the gold shines bright in it's hiding spot?
Net worth means nothing when interest rates go up unless you are on a level where you can weather the storm.

We had 2 sisters come into the shop I work at with a couple of large Rubbermaid boxes. A bunch of commemorative coins, proof silver eagles, and tons of lower dollar items. As we were looking them over, we asked where it all came from. Their dad has collected for years and they didn't know until he passed. Then we got to a cardboard box that was separated from the rest. As soon as we opened it, we closed it right back up. They asked what's wrong? We had them come to a back office where we could close the door away from other customers. Long story short, that 1 cardboard box had over 300k in gold coins in it. 1oz buffaloes, AGE's, St. Gaudens, $5 Indians, liberty heads, you name it, they were in that box. One of them nearly fainted when we gave her a preliminary idea of value.

They couldn't get their story straight and showed no sense of loss when discussing the soul to whom it originally belonged. Quite the opposite, they were giddy with the "mysterious" bequest. I pray those fortunate enough to receive the labor and sacrifice of my life, will take one moment, particularly in the presence of others, to say something nice or reflect on a fond memory. Frugal doesn’t begin to describe my parents who were children of the depression and young adults in WW2. I think at one point he lost faith in stacking because when he passed, his stack was a fraction of what it had been at its height but was still significant nonetheless. I have 2 siblings and both sold their part of the inheritance for luxuries and vacations while I have concentrated on growing my stack. My father was a hard man but he left an indelible impression on me about the value of delayed gratification, self reliance and the coming financial collapse. Hi Yankee, I’m not sure if this question has been asked but I’ve always been curious. Precious metals are a lot of things to many different people, the stories that are carried along with them and often told once they show up to a shop much like Tim has are sometimes quite questionable. I was wondering how often Tim runs into stories that don’t quite add up, or situations much like this one, where individuals are oblivious to the life-long hard work that went into setting aside tangible wealth? How does Tim set aside judgment or questions and focus simply on the transaction ahead? I always love watching these videos, the lessons you learn from others’ stories in other lanes of ‘wealth management’ aren’t usually so transparent if that makes any sense. It’s hard to hear these types of stories but I hope it serves as a lesson to those who may have relatives that behave this way. Ungrateful and childish even at their age.. that Uncle must’ve faced challenge after challenge in life. Anyway.. fantastic video as always, cheers from MI!

Talk about generational wealth 😅 I do feel like people like these two ladies don't really appreciate what was left to them. Most people can't afford to get 1oz of gold, yet they had how many oz? "Gifted" to them. Kinda bitter sweet to be honest

It ended up where it ended up.
Pray, and be joyfull and gracious.
    Love to all.
In the more grand overseeing, this is a miniscule amount of gold.
    Still, blessings.

Not gold, but important to me...I found my uncle's WWII campaign ribbons in a cigar box, under a bunch of vacation bible school handouts...when the elderly pass, you've got to take the time to actually look at stuff. Fun video, I'm glad these sisters were willing talk about this.

I have my dad's and uncles WWII stuff too. I have a gas mask, an island survival kit, enemy plane identification cards, their knives, etc. Cool stuff to have. I'll keep it only because it means something to me. My sisters could care less and would sell it

90% of that stuff ends up in the dump because people don't value it properly. This was told to me by a military surplus store owner.@@beebob1279

I've seen something similar before. The people who work hard and save, never enjoy the fruits of their labour. I knew someone who was broke, 3 kids, no husband, they inherited millions from an aunt. They bought a house, expensive car, spend 25k on a vacation. They're gonna piss it away in no time.

This episode is hilarious and God bless those ladies that were gifted all that Gold and Silver. It's Gods money which is so much better than paper dollars but I do understand they needed it to build their cottage but also glad they gifted some to their children and kept some. Anyway, thanks so much Yankee and Tim for another great video. God bless you guys.

Definitely have to trust whomever you entrust knowledge of where you’ve hidden your stack. Plus if it’s to be shared and with whom, that they’ll follow through with your wishes. I had a friend who kept a family member advised. He passed and the trusted? Kept it and did not shared it. Years later it was found out and destroyed the families. I keep sealed and updated copies addressed to make sure everyone will know.

I know someone who’s father bought 80 Troy ounces of gold back when it was a little over $100 a Troy ounce. He inherited all the gold and an even bigger fortune in firearms. Several Class III firearms and over 500 other various firearms. I seen a original 1862 .44 caliber rimfire rifle in roughly 85% condition. Beautiful piece of art. His father put everything in Trusts. He had a separate Trust for the Class III weapons. Just the Class III weapons were valued at over $500k. The gold today is estimated at $170k.

I inherited 100 st gaudens, among other pre 33 gold coins. A total of 350 gold coins, most 1oz or above. And about 3000oz of silver in a mix of 100oz bars and junk silver.
And the crazy thing is I had been collecting ancients (gold and silver) for 7 years and never knew my grandfather had any coins outside of a few gold Centenarios he showed me once.
So I basically inherited a lifelong stack, which I intend to pass down. Only sold the silver bars, since they are just too big lol.

That's insane... these people casually selling all this gold oh we need money because we are having a cabin built in maine. This poor uncle rolling in his grave for some kids he never even really knew 😔 it's pocket change to these people and I find it gross.

@@smsavis hopefully tim made a few bucks off em. Of course real estate is a wonderful investment. As my grandfather said they stopped making new land a long time ago.
It just rubs me wrong that they didn't even know the man and still unquestionably took the metal to get Fiat in exchange when they clearly don't really need it.
