The Best Shock Money Can Buy? - Push Industries ElevenSix Review

  • As far as mountain bike rear shocks go they all look pretty similar. When it comes to rear suspension, it can sometimes be an afterthought for some consumers. Bike manufactures have a typical shock tuned for the specific bike it is manufacturing but Push Industries decided to go about things differently. If you haven’t heard of Push Industries, we have a treat for you. The guys at Push are a small brand from Loveland, CO that are dedicated to making high-end suspension products. Instead of a general suspension tune that’s based around just the bike, the Push ElevenSix coil shock is specifically tuned for not only the bike, but the rider as well. In this video Jeff takes us through the finer points of the Push ElevenSix. We’ll cover how Push tunes the 11.6 using information like the riders weight, riding style, trail conditions, and of course the specific bikes suspension system. Check it out!

      Worth noting as well that you don't have to have the efficiency switch set up for climbing. I have one on my bike and asked them to custom tune that switch for a poppy trail/flow line tune, rather than a climb tune, which works amazing. The DH tune glues you to the ground like only a coil can, the trail tune positions the feel somewhere between a the feel of an air shock and a coil. Kind of the best of both worlds for trail riding, still supple but lively at the same time. By far the best component on my full on dream bike Sentinel build!

    • @gpearce11
      @gpearce11 Před 3 lety +2

      A three way comparison between the 11-6, Fox DHX2 and RS SDC Ultimate would be awesome.
      Because the Fox and Rockshox so often come specced on high end bikes, and it would be nice to see if they're good enough to not need upgrading to the 11-6 or if it's worth the extra cash.
      The Evil Offering, for example, comes with the SDC Ultimate RTC, but Evil also offers the DHX2 for $75 or 11-6 for $900. The price difference between the Fox and Rockshox is neither here nor there, but even when you're already spending $6K, $900 is a pretty big price bump.

    How cool is that a shop does the reviews of the products it's selling to its customers and doesn't just regurgitate the marketing material from the manufacturer, keep up the good work. If i was living in the US I would be very confident to buy from your shop, it's very unfortunate that the shipping cost from the US to my part of the world is very high but I still love the content and watch every video because of the top notch quality and in depth information

    From what I understand, its not just a open or climb switch. Thats the default option. Again, from what I understand, even that is customizable so you don't have to think about it as a climb switch, you can look at it as two completely independent tuning circuits. So if you want a downhill mash the gnar mode, and a more flat pedaly trail mode, you can do that.

    dudebros. Built my offering from fanatik with a push. Cant speak to its performance on other bikes. But I have ridden air and coil on varying terrain, bikes and travel ranges. I called push just to tell them over the phone how happy I was. Talked to “Mike” for like 20 minutes at 9am, ended up with some tuning tips, trail talk and general suspension information about my bike in particular. Personally, after a few rides out of the box, I softened the climb circuit and firmed up the DH circuit. Just a couple clicks for both circuits on HSC and LSC. That made the bike a solid pedaling trail bike for undulating terrain in climb mode and a absolute UNIT when the trail is pointed strictly down. I tend to be aggressive and push the bike to its limits 😬 I’ve never ridden a better handling bike. JUICED.

On my Megatower is an air shock installed but if i switch to coil, i will buy the 11.6. Did you ever had any problems with Push shocks? I blew every of mine Fox shocks after 1 year of riding (air and coil). The repairs were covered in warranty, so big problem. The only problem it took them 2-5 weeks to fix my shocks.

  • @motorcycleguy73
    @motorcycleguy73 Před 5 lety +1

    Great review as usual. Wow springs are coming back who'd have known. People are finding about the air springs are mostly hype. The motorcycle industry is switching back to springs. Air suspension doesn't have the suppleness of Springs, maybe if you're a factory Rider and you can really tune it in yes air might be an advantage because of weight but to the rest of us out there Springs are the way to go. Next the 2x drive train will be coming back when the carry your bike up the hill to ride down craze is over.

    I'm satisfied with my Rockshox air deluxe shock on my aluminium frame! I won't consider any coil shock especially push eleven six!!!

    how does one know if a coil shock would work well w their bike? e.g : 2020 canyon spectral

      You need to know the shock length, shock travel length, and shock mounts.

    Rode one for the first time on a YT Decoy on the rainy Vancouver North Shore today. Loved it. Big upgrade for an ebike. Better climbing, much less of that sinking feeling on drops, more stable over gnar.

      No. A kit for mine (Knolly Delirium) to a metric frame costs about 250-300€ exclusing the spring!
      So youre off nearely 400€ for a stupid conversion.
      Its way, way way way too expensive for what it does
