Brian, Cost is really hard to say we used a lot of items we had laying around. i would guess around $800 range. I would search maker forums for protoform former builds. Some paid a lot more because they had to outsource the metal work and welding. My mold was made out of plaster, but i don't think this is preferred, i am just learning and experimenting at this point. Next i am going to experiment with bondo for part of it.
Couple of questions: what was the approximate cost of building the vaccum form rig? Also, what material are you using to make your molds?
