Skaraborgs Regemente is an armoured Regiment(or if you prefer Mechanized), e.g vehicles used in the Regiment is Stridsvagn 122/Leopard 2 and CV90 to mention the two main fighting vehicles, it is located in a town called Skövde, in the western part of Sweden. Going by what the guy said, this is a company size exercise by Wilska Company, SIB/Strid i Bebyggelse means Urban combat.
    Thanks!

It's not in the "west" by any strech. To the south, sure, but it's more or less in the middle of the country going left to right. Besides, Skaraborgs regemente is divided into two.

But yes it is pretty central. If one would say middle of the country or central sweden a lot of people would probably think from north to south.

Regarding kit. There is an informal OK to buy your own pouches, boots, chestrig and belt. There has been 3(4?) faild attempts to purchase a new combat vest. So the most up to date pouches are from the old Combat Vest 2000 (Stridsväst 2000), which is an Swedish take of a PALS system.
As for body armor, they are using a mix of the covert and overt (without and with PALS) version of the Kroppsskydd 12.
The only one using a brass catcher is the guy with the AK4C(/D/E). That roller delay bolt launches the casing to the moon. It hurts getting hit.

SIB is an abbreviation for Strid I Bebyggelse, meaning Urban Combat.
There are several of these “training towns” for training SIB in Sweden.
One of these towns, Spång, is fully digital and tracks every soldier and vehicle and their status during combat.
You can basically simulate anything to train different scenarios.

    • @RaXXha
      @RaXXha Před 2 měsíci +16

Spång also has sensors on all the buildings to help simulate shooting through walls, indirect fire etc, it's one of the most advanced urban combat training facilities in the world. 🙂

Yes, the ammunition with the fully red tips are blanks with wooden projectiles that are pulverised by the blank firing device on the front of the weapon. 🙂

Swedish/Finnish specialty. I guess couple other countries use this systems also. Reason is interestingly logistical, industrial and supply security. Using plug bullet blanks allow using completely *standard cartridge cases* for blanks. Instead of separate blank cases or blank crimped standard cases, which would ruin the brass after one blank use.
Wooden blanks allows reloading blanks multiple times, which is more economical. Even first round brand new case blanks are usually reloaded cases from hard tip ammunition. No using freshly made jewelry for blanks.
Make a "war shot", it gets shot at range training in military, once used cases collected, sent back to same munitions plant, refurbished and reloaded as blanks. Even after during training where convenient, shot blank cases get collected, sent to refurbish.
This saves money and keeps the reloading and refurbishing production line at munition plant in constant work, experience and exercise..... and ready to refurbish and reload, hard tip war shot in case of war. Not just the reloading, but the industrial scale collecting, receiving, washing, refurbishing, quality controlling of refurbished cartridge cases.
Since during war availability of new brass as critical war material might become issue, not to mention new case production and forming capacity.
Plus all this economy means, the munitions plant is in country again to be close by accessible during war.
Swedes seem to like red painted wood, we Finns use blue painted plug bullets. Plus well wood is dirt cheap compared to say for example using plastic plug bullets, when one is in country 70% forests.

@@aritakalo8011 Adding: The muzzle(tip of the gun) is the only thing that needs to be replaced for using "blanks" as they are made to split up the bullet when it comes out of the barrel.
The "blank" muzzle also prevents live ammo (if wrongly inserted into the mag) to be fired out of the gun. It gets stuck in the barrel because of the "blank" muzzle.

I have also done this in the homeguard. We are still using full size g3 rifles (long gun for cqb combat). We were several homeguard squads from all over the country doing sib training with instructors that train the regular army. Most of us was instructors, civilian ipsc shooter (like me) or had excelled in local sib training. Nowadays I help out with sib training a couple of times a year when it's done locally. It's really fun to be the opponent. We had fun. But it was definetly a bit of a competition of who had the best guys (and this was not only from us, our superiors wanted to know how it was going).
These guys are regular army employees probably done this a couple times already. They seemed to have a lot of private gear (pmags and that tan chest rig). Some units allow some modification, and some don't. It's often more about appearance, and it not leaking out that they use non issued gear.
A lot of private houses in sweden have ladders to reach the roof. They are often stored outside on the wall. So you can pretty easily find one. A way to get to the roof is actually if not stated otherwised assumed to be included. Some have hatches or mounted ladders. But many have stand alone ladders.

SIB, i.e. urban combat, is a complex form of combat that places great demands on stress management and quick decision-making. The environment creates endless nooks and places for opponents to operate from. This is where GSS/K employees from the Wilska Company from the Skaraborg Regiment, P 4, are training. The exercise takes place at the SIB facility in Skövde and includes several applied elements as well as played civilians and opponents.

The regiment includes the 2nd Brigade Staff, the 41st and 42nd Armored Battalions, the 1st Heavy Transport Company and a brigade reconnaissance company. We also train in artillery, brigade leadership, and brigade communications. We operate on training fields from Älvdalen in the north to Remmene in the south and cooperate with other organizations and authorities to leave Sweden in peace.
The main weapon systems of our armored battalions are tank 122, combat vehicles 9040, grenade launcher armored vehicles and anti-aircraft gun vehicles. The battalions protect Sweden's interests, provide support to civil society and in the event of unrest, they can quickly attack and defeat enemy maneuver units.
The second brigade staff, which is one of two brigade staffs in Sweden, is responsible for leading a brigade consisting of various parts of the army's units and has the task of leading ground units during operations in Sweden and abroad. Head of the second brigade is Michael Carlén.

As others have said. these are the Skaraborg Regiment, they are mechanized infantry. Apart from the fancy ride, they are standard infantry troops. And conscripts at that. Except for the platoon commanders, I doubt any in this video is a soldier by profession.
